This 4 point styrofoam boomerang worked awesome for the first 2 flights and came back within a few feet of the starting point. Afterwords the soft foam wings began to droop more and more causing it to dive and crash on every throw. I tried to re-shape (flatten) the wings several times but it would only do a partial return and I never could get it to fully return they way it did on the first 2 throws. After letting the kids toss it around for 20 minutes and watching it crash within 20 feet of the starting position I decided the material this was made with is way too soft and unstable to be practical.Do not waste your money on a foam boomerang. If this had a ridged skeletal frame embedded inside the foam to keep the wings straight, it would be far better, but this one is a fail.

I recently purchased the Kid-Friendly Boomerangs, specifically the Rainbow Sedona Boomerang, and I can confidently say it has been a hit with my kids! I didn't expect much but it turned out to be a lot of fun. even comes with instructions to help you throw it properly so it comes back to you and not on your neighbors roof. me being a man i was able to not read the instructions and get it to land perfectly on my neighbors roof because thats exactly what i ment to do. I did get 2 so technically i saved the day and the kids and we were able to have fun with the one we could reach.

This is overpriced drastically and is only worth maybe 2 dollars, it's essentially just a foam cutout but very very thin and will break easily and only kinda works. Just a toy but not a quality one and will take some adjustment as it comes dented out of the package or at least mine did.

This is pretty good. We had a ROUGH go of things today at the park, in the wind. When the air was stagnant, we got off several throws that returned to us and were catchable but we lacked the agility to finish. So it absolutely DOES function as a boomerang should.The kids threw it using several different methods, most notably "frisbee style", and ended up running after it time and again. The colors are adorable and it seems be the right size for all hands.The boomerang is soft enough for us to not worry and isn't too expensive so if it wound up on a school roof we wouldn't be hurting.The one problem we found was that it seemed to have a sealed "skin" on the colored side, or the "top" of it. This layer cracked when it flexed and impaired the overall integrity of the boomerang. The lack of a cohesive layer made it a little more floppy but didn't seem to cause any problems with it's movement.Overall, it's a fun, usuable, bright colored toy that (with a little practice) should be exactly what you're looking for.

Kid-Friendly Boomerangs for Indoor or Outdoor Play, April 2025The beautiful wooden boomerang that I brought back from Australia many years ago worked well but I was always afraid to catch it so it mostly sits on a shelf. This boomerang, made of lighter material isn't nearly as intimidating. It's been too rainy to use but I got it outside today and gave it a try. It performed as expected and looped right back towards me. It was a bit too windy today so I wasn't surprised when it landed behind me. I'm looking forward to getting out there on a calm day when I expect to have better control.The edges of the boomerang are rougher than I expected but I don't expect that to be a problem with a two handed catch on a lightweight boomerang.I think this will be a fun addition to my van when I'm traveling. I can't always find someone to toss a frisbee with me.

I was following the directions that came with this so I could learn how to effectively use it and it definitely is tough at first. Once you understand how to throw it based on the wind conditions, it worked out rather well. As for the durability of this product, I'm not certain it will last us more than one summer with the way my kids play with their outdoor toys.
