The brightness of this is great so long as there is something shielding your eyes. If you have sensitive eyes like I do, I would not recommend having any portion of this uncovered. It is easy to use, great for tracing things, and diamond painting because you can light up the back of your project to make things easier to see, functions well, and easy to plug in. However, I would not recommend unplugging it very often as it is easy to wear out the port very quickly on these. As a starter light board/pad, I would highly recommend until you can afford a much better one.

This light pad has a lot of size to it, and even though it doesn’t come with anything to adjust its height, it is still very useful. I use it mostly for tracing. It’s not magnetic, but the light on it is really bright, which comes in handy when you are working with it. I give this drawing pad 5 stars. It does what it says that it does and the lights are dimmable. If you were wondering if this would stay in place during use, there are non-slip pads on the bottom of this pad. This keeps it from moving around while you draw. This may not be a pad with a load of features, but if you are just looking for something for tracing, this will get you by. The size is not a standard 8.5x11 size, but it is a little larger. Also, the ruler that runs along the inner border of the pad is written in the same pink ink as the border itself. This makes it hard to see when the pad is on, so if you need this feature, it may be best to choose a light pad with a black border so that the text can be read. This light pad is okay, and I found no features listed in the product description for this product that were not present, so it works as described. It just doesn’t have the features that other light pads may have.

This lightbox is perfect for my art studio. I love that it is pink. It is a great size. It’s huge and will accommodate tracing for even larger pieces of paper and artwork. The screen is good and bright, with adjustable brightness for tracing things. (Press and hold the on/off icon to make it brighter or dimmer). It includes a ruler on two sides, for positioning and measuring. It is bright enough to show an image even through heavy weight watercolor paper. It’s lightweight but seems very sturdy and well made. It is thin enough that it is comfortable drawing on it on a table. It’s also smooth and looks easy to clean. It comes with a five-foot USB cable for power, which is fine, but I plan to get a longer one for convenience as this lightbox is apparently not rechargeable, so it will have to stay connected to a power source (that you provide) when in use. Be aware also that this is not a drawing tablet that connects to a computer and allows you to copy digital art: this is solely for tracing physical images. The one thing that would make it even better and would be a nice upgrade to have: it would be lovely if it came with a storage bag or if it came in a nicer box with heavier cardboard and a lid, for storage.Overall I’m very happy with this lightbox and consider it a great value and something I am going to have a lot of fun using.

I am disappointed in the price for a plug-in light. For this price I assumed this was a rechargeable light pad, but it is not. You must be within 5 feet of a USB outlet. I see similar plug-in light pads for half the price, so I cannot recommend this one.The pink border is not even close to the shade shown, it is a dark pink. That is fine but just not as advertised. It is very thin, which is great and probably my only positive comment about it.

I like this light pad very much. I was in need of a replacement for an old one I had, and this seems to fit the bill. It's missing some functionality that other similar light pads have, but not enough to remove any stars. The USB cable that came with it to power the unit works fine, and measures in at 5 feet long. It's an okay length, but since the light pad is NOT rechargeable, I would prefer a longer cable for more ease of movement.I appreciate the rubber feet on the back to keep the unit from sliding around on a work surface.I also appreciate the ruler that is along the edges of the workable area of the light pad - that's a handy thing to have.Things I wish this light pad had but doesn't:1) I wish it was rechargeable.2) I wish it had a carry case to store it in between uses.Other than those two things, I really do like the light pad a lot and will get a lot of use out of it. The A3 size lends itself to a lot of different projects, the surface is perfectly smooth, and the dimmable light is bright and clear with a great range of dim to very bright.

I used to use a small plastic light box that are (or were) sold at art supply stores whenever I needed a light source for doing hand drawn animation or looking at negatives, or general tracing. Then I got a small light tablet like this one. I instantly fell in love with it. When I saw this larger sized one, I HAD to have it. It's great, for animating, you can tape down the animator key strip and used paper keyed for it witout having to spend a fortune on an animation table. It's very light, not heavy at all and you can vary the light intensity up and down as needed for comfort and it gets very bright, much brighter than my old plastic light box that used flourescent light. This light tablet has consistent even lighting across it's surface and the ruled edges are a handy feature. It's also EXCELLENT for practicing calligraphy, you can have a worksheet beneath the page you are writing on and use it as a guide without having to mark or score your paper. And of course, it functions perfectly for tracing. This one is pink along the edges, rather than the almost obligatory black that all the other ones seem to use. I like that it is lighter in color. All in all, it works great for its intended use, but it could also be used as a light source for a diorama behind a printed background which would look amazing.
