I had to wait for snow, which of course hit us after the the return window closed, they were ripped to shreds within 2 blocks on a gravel road in 4 inches of snow. Save your money

Even though my tire size was listed I could not install the product correctly on my 255/40R21 tires. I tried for a hour and it just would not go on. I am returning the item.

Super easy to put on amd take off. Mesh on the sides effectively protects the wheels from the snow,The instructions say that you should never use them on dry pavement, which is good advice because they do wear out quickly that way.

Snow socks are a great option for emergency use in the snow. These are much smaller than snow chains to store so won't take up a huge amount of trunk space and much much easier to install. It is very easy to throw these in your trunk and forget about them until you need them.Their cons compared to tire chains are that they cannot maintain the speed of chains (limited to 25 mph and will slip off if pushed faster) and will get torn apart if driven on now snow covered road. That said they can be installed in only a few minutes by sliding over the tire and if you are navigating a difficult pass these limit the amount of time you have to spend on the side of the road.Compared to AutoSocks these slide on easier and install but the fabric surface does not feel as robust and I suspect they would not hold up as well. Both definitely increased grip in the snow, however.

I got these to keep in my little car, the weather here hasn't warranted use yet, but I feel better keeping them in my trunk in case I'm in a situation where I might need these. The are packaged up nicely and are compact, so they fit easily either in your trunk or under a seat. If I'm in a situation to have to use these I will be sure to update this review.
