I like the idea of the feature to allow using a regular wrench. Unless who ever put it on over-tightens it. Then the sheet metal of the hex just rounds off and you get to use a strap wrench anyway. Filter seems to work well. And if installed correctly is easy to remove.

Needed a replacement oil filter for a motorcycle I purchased. Always rely on K&N to deliver high quality products so I switched out the basic filter it had for K&N. I know I won’t have to worry about it doing the job and look for it to work for many miles keeping the engine in top shape.

Le filtre correspond pour les Buell, je ne comprend pas le commentaire et la photo du client de novembre 2019.J'ai déjà acheté les filtres KN177 en septembre 2017 et j'ai hésité lorsque j'ai vu le commentaire sur la différence de longueur.Le filtre avec l'hexagone mesure 84 mm et sans l'hexagone 76 mm. Il n'y a pas de différence entre 2017 et 2020.Je suis satisfait de mon filtre et j'en racheterai.

I have been using these KN filter is on my Buell XB12 for more than 10 years now. There may be cheaper filters out there, but I haven't found any that are of better quality. The main feature for me is the not welded onto the end that has been pre-drilled for a safety wire. Plus the nut makes it easy to remove the filter with just a wrench.

Perfect fit for my 2003 Buell Lightning XB9S. Just like any other filter, you're best off if you change it every time you change the oil. Without cutting it in half, it's hard to say much about the internal quality but it seems good enough. As others have stated, the 17mm nut is clutch - it makes removing the filter infinitely easier. Remember to pre-load the filter with oil before installing to prevent a few oil-free moments of engine operation after changing the oil.

Habe den originalen Filter durch dieses Produkt von K&N ersetzt. Passt perfekt und durch den aufgenieteten Sechskant war die Montage auch sehr einfach.

Have been using K&N oil filters on my cars and motorcycles for some time now. It seems like a quality item and I like the ability of being able to use a wrench or socket on them when taking them off, just have to be careful that you do not put them on too tight. Never had a problem getting a K&N filter off like with some other brands, never had one leak either, so I will pay the few dollars more for peace of mind and ease of installation & removal.
