Ride Comfort may be important, but restoring a vehicle’s Ride Control; stability, stopping, lane change responsiveness and handling is critical. KYB Excel-G Shocks & Struts are designed for the most important performance purpose: Restoring the vehicle’s original capabilities. KYB is a world leading supplier of shocks and struts to new vehicle manufacturers and the Excel-G is made on the very same KYB OE assembly lines, uses the same OE quality components and is calibrated to restore original, designed performance, not change it. That has earned Excel-G the classification: OEA (Original Equipment for the Aftermarket). The KYB Excel-G is a nitrogen gas-charged, twin-tube design that includes every quality component that our global OEM products include and it is the preferred choice for Asian vehicles.

Purchased to replace original struts in year 2000 Nissan Pathfinder. Fantastic replacement - just like original feel. I did drive the vehicle when it was new - the control has been returned - as both the stock struts were completely blown.

I gave a review for the strut that goes on the other side of the vehicle, same goes for this one. excellent fitment. Rides like a new car again. Buy it, no problems. Can't beat the price compared to what shops charge for an inferior monroe strut.

Yes, KYB claims that they are identical except color (black Excel-G was received, not silver GR-2). Part number is the same. Brake line retainer is NOT the same. There are reports (not for this exact model) of the stiffness being quite different.I would take KYB's word on that and install them, except that the Amazon sent me a black Excel-G for the passenger side, and a silver GR-2 for the driver side. I don't want some difference in stiffness giving me a lopsided response to bumps.Regarding the GR-2: a previous set, same part number, was fine for a few years on this same vehicle, then were pretty much worn out in 60k miles or so.Edit/update: with the usual excellent service, Amazon sent me another strut. However, they didn't bother to read my message about not sending an Excel-G when they advertise a GR-2, and sent me another Black one, which doesn't match the 335031 on the driver side. They have now paid (Prime) 2nd day air, replacement 1 day air, and return ground postage, and we aren't there yet.

Purchased for my 2001 Qx4, passenger side front strut. From some other Qx4/Pathfinder owner reviews I found online, these were sufficient replacements for the front struts, the GR-2 series. After having drove 100mi with these GR-2 series struts, I find them good enough for me. I like it.I did however upgrade my coil springs to the Old Man Emu (ARB/OME) brand, so my review should be taken lightly. The OME coil spings make for a stiffer and higher lift than than the OEM struts and springs that come from factory. However, direct from KYB, they say this GR-2 series is supposed to match or exceed OEM standards. So if you're looking for an OEM replacement, these are good to go.I mainly do commuting and I plan to do occasional towing of a trailer and motorcyle, which is why I opted for upgraded coil springs. these GR-2 front struts were recommended by many Qx4/Pathfinder owners, so this is why I chose these over other brands. Usually, KYB produces some quality suspension components, so I wasn't very hesitant in trusting KYB quality (however I've also heard their strut mounts are no-good... go figure).Installation into the Qx4 was rather straightforward, but I took my struts in to a suspension shop to have them dissemble my old strut assembly and reassemble my new ones.An additional note: the ABS sensor bracket did not accept my ABS sensor line. From the Amazon picture, you can see that ABS sensor bracket/tab that sticks out from the base of the strut. As you can see, it's a hole, not a "C" shape bracket, so you will not be able to just slip the ABS sensor line back in. What I did was just zip tie it to that bracket. Should have no harm, since the OEM strut just held it in place.

Much better than stock ride. Good quality product. firmer ride, but not harsh at all. Very happy with purchase. Better than Rancho.
