The authors have YouTube videos that cover the same material as the book. It’s great to have the directions and images in a book as a side by side companion. There are som great tips and tricks and lovely photos of both inspiration and finished projects. The instructions are clear. This is one of the best books on the subject of landscape quilts. So sad that the authors have both passed away a few years ago! They can be proud of the legacy they’ve left behind.

Nancy Zieman’s books never disappoint. She and Natalie Sewell were great co-authors. Clear instructions and images make any landscape project appealing and easier. A good addition to my quilting library.

These two pioneer artist were beyond talented. They give you many examples and plenty of details. You can also go online and find “Nancy Zieman Landscape Quilting” and find some GREAT videos.

This book was not what I was looking for. It's focus is teaching how to create landscape quilts using elements pre-printed on fabric. For example, if you want tulips in your quilt, find a fabric with tulips on it, and this book will teach you how to modify and incorporate the tulips into your quilt. What I was looking for was a book that teaches me how to create tulips from scratch using multiple pieces of fabric. So while this book might be fine for the technique it is putting forward, that is not technique I want to use.I did go through the book, and much of it showcases quilts the authors created, with short descriptions of the techniques they used. Again, not what I was looking for. So although I will keep this book, I do not expect to refer to it much as I progress in pictorial art quilting.

It took me 4 tries to get this book. I ordered it from 3 other places and each time it was canceled. I did finally get it and I love it. If you are interested in landscape quilting, you will love reading this book. It is filled with pictures of the quilts that they made and suggestions on how to improve on what they did when you make you own quilt. I recommend it. It was published in 2001 so it it a little hard to find. Enjoy

I've wanted to learn how to do this for a long time. When I saw this on Amazon, I knew it would be the one I could really learn from. The scenes in this book at fantastic. I found it's not as hard or difficult as I thought it would be. I'm sure with some trying and mistakes and trying again, I might be able to accomplish this. Beautiful pictures of her creations and also Natalie's creations.

My first adventure as a landscape quilter was a very pleasureable experience thanks to Nancy Zieman. As I found out there is alot more to a successful outcome than I had imagined. This book took me step by step to a finished project I was proud of. I could hardly wait to finish it so I could begin my next endeavor. In fact I have several already planned.

I've wanted to learn how to make a photo quilt for some time and I think this will give me the information I need to get started. Now I just need the time!The photos are great, drawings are concise and informative, and there isn't too much information to overwhelm the reader. Get it if you have any interest in making one of these. Get it if you just want a fantastic book with great ideas. Get it if you have a quilting friend you want to give a terrific present to.
