Purchased first one in 2018 and it lasted 6 years, and thermometer glue failed in 2024 ... I felt good that it worked in the pool continuously year-round for 6 years.Purchased second one in Mar-2024 and glue lasted 3 months.Purchased third one in Jul-2024 and glue lasted 2 months.Image shows what happened all three times glue holding thermometer to temperature scale failed.Product is junk.

This pool Thermometer was easy to read and did float well, however i took one star off because the glass broke within the casing and it doesn’t work now. Had to throw it away.

Two months and the thermometer is broken. As stated in another review, the thermometer has broken off its brackets inside the glass and is now useless. We have no children so it wasn't abuse of the product. This is actually our second thermometer from this MFG. Our fist was much better. We purchased it last summer and you could remove the top to have a submersible thermometer. We liked the last one much better and would still have it but my husband cracked it when we were closing the pool last summer. I doubt we will be ordering this one again.

Overall, this product is as should be expected, except it says it is also for hot tubs. The top of the thermometer caps at 104 degrees. Sometimes ours exceeds 104 (which is too hot for us) but we would still like to know what temp it is. Admittedly, I could have paid more attention to the product photos to notice this limitation. Also, this thermometer is rather large. These two factors make it not great for hot tubs, in my opinion. I will probably give it to a swimming pool owner and get something else.

No fuss no muss, it tells me whether or not I want to get in the pool or not. It seems accurate though I haven't tested it more than if it feels right to me. It floats and comes with long enough string to tie it off to the ladder of the pool. It's price is on par with those from the store and seems identical so why not have it delivered. Great to have if you have kiddos and don't want them getting too cold in the pool.

There are several very similar thermometers here on Amazon. This was not the cheapest or the most expensive but it seemed to have the best reviews. My husband tossed it in the pool right away and likes it a lot, and he’s picky.I read a couple of reviews that griped that it didn’t float flat on the surface so you could read it more easily, without pulling it up. Um, yeah. Floating atop the water would be great but completely inaccurate. In a perfect world that would work. No, in a perfect world a tiny water sprite would live in it happily, jump out at your approach and yell in a tiny silvery voice “Oh, it’s a lovely 81°, do jump in!” (Yes, in a British accent.)But in the real world, this thermometer will do just fine, thank you.
