How To Use This Butter Crock Better

Step1: Put In Butter

Use salted butter; if you use unsalted butter, add a pinch of salt to the water. Press it firmly to avoid air bubbles.

Step 2: Add Water

Add water up to the line and change it every 2 or 3 days. Water not exceed the water line or the lid will not stay on tightly.

Step 3: Store at Room Temp

Keep away from heat sources and avoid sunlight. The butter will keep fresh and soft due to the airtight seal of the water.

Step 4: Daily Use

The butter can be spread directly on bread.

  • No, it will not. The butter crock is designed to preserve the softness of the butter by utilizing the airtight seal created by the water. Therefore, the butter crock itself is not airtight and a slight shake will not affect it.

  • Due to the glazing process of ceramics, the lid must be partially unglazed. To avoid the moldiness caused by the unglazed part touching the water, we transfer the unglazed portion from the edge to the top of the lid.

  • It holds one stick of butter, but if you use it infrequently, maybe can put the half in the crock and storing the rest in the refrigerator. Make sure to firmly press the half stick and adheres to the inside of the lid, so that it will not fall out.

  • There is a circle of line on the inside of the base, you just need to add water up to the line on the base, and please change the water in two or three days.

  • Ensure the butter isn’t overly softened and that the lid is clean and dry. Press the butter firmly to avoid air bubbles. Refresh the water every two or three days and keep the butter crock away from heat sources and direct sunlight.

I love love love this brand! I recently just got and entire plate and bowl set for Christmas. I’m still learning how to use this item but I’m still really excited about it. I definitely feel like I should be making my own butter now that I have this butter crock

Nice color and pattern.Smaller than any butter crock I’ve seen or used. Too small for my liking.Mold lines from pouring form apparent. Dark mark on top from where form was filled.Keeps butter soft, which is good, but so thin that it doesn’t keep it cool like other pottery crocks have.Wouldn’t buy again. Would not recommend.

The lid leans more tan, while the crock base leans more grey. Mine didn't match so I returned it. It also had brown marks on the lid that makes it look dirty. Very displeased with the quality.

Live this little butter keeper.I cook a lot and I am always needing soft, room temperature butter. I live in a very southern state where room temps get warm. I want my butter soft but not spoiled and this little item is just the ticket.Highly recommend!!
