Such an adorable and creative learning activity for both our 2.5 year old and 5 year old. The “bento” box is quality and perfect for storing the items for travel. The kids love the bright colors and realistic pieces inside.

This play bento box is really cute. It has different cards that kids can learn from. Addition, shapes, letters. It is a great hands on activity for kids.

Great toy, I really like Learning Resources toys. But I think is a bit too advanced for my 3 yrs. How isn't into phonetics yet. There's only of activities she can do. If you 3-4yrs is learning phonetics and learning to count.

These are super cute learning games that all fit in a single bento box. I do win the letter apples were a thicker cardboard or a laminate material.

This review is for the LEARNING RESOURCES Let's Go Bento! Learning Activity Set (78 Pieces). I received a free taxable sample of this learning activity set to review in my search for preschool learning resources. The activity set arrived in a decorated and branded cardboard box with pictures of the pieces and descriptions of the activities on the front and back, an "about us" on the left side, and Spanish and French descriptions of the contents on the right side. Inside the cardboard box was a plastic school supply box (6" x 8" x 2 1/4", 198 grams) cleverly divided into five sections like a bento box to store and organize the remaining 77-pieces. The 77-pieces can be grouped into five categories: counting & early math, emotions, letters & spelling, shapes, and activity cards. There are three types of pieces for counting: 5x plastic pretzel pieces (1 1/2" x 1", 2 grams), 5x plastic half orange slices (1 1/2" x 3/4", 2 grams), and 10x pairs of laminated paper apple puzzle pieces (2 3/4" x 2 1/2", 2 grams). There are also 3x double-sided plastic bunny sandwiches for emotions (tired, silly, scared, angry, sad, happy) measuring 2 1/2" x 3" with a weight of 21 grams each. For shapes there are 5x double-sized plastic snacks measuring at most 2 3/8" square with an average weight of 7 grams. Finally, there are 26x laminated paper double-sided carrot letters with uppercase on one side and lowercase on the reverse (1 1/2" x 1", 3/5 gram each). All of the plastic pieces are solidly constructed, and the laminated letters are well-laminated pieces of reasonably thick cardstock.Learning activity is structured around the 23x laminated paper activity cards that are color-coded and patterned across the four learning group categories: counting & early math (7x - purple border with orange slices and pretzels), emotions (3x - blue border with emotion faces), letters & spelling (10x - green border with carrots), and shapes (3x, yellow border with shapes). The counting and early math cards encourage your preschooler to match the number of pretzels to a written and numeric number as well as add groups of orange slices to a question-marked total. Learning of numbers is encouraged through the paired apple puzzle pieces, one side of which has the numeric number and the matching side of which expresses that number as apple seeds. For the shape activity cards, your preschooler is presented with a dinner plate setting with two shaped outlines to place matching shapes onto. The emotion activity cards have similar outlines for the bunny-shaped emotion faces with the emotion written on the bottom of the card accompanied by a picture of a child portraying the emotion on the left. Finally, the letter & spelling activity cards promote using the lettered carrot cards to match the printed uppercase letters, identify the first letter of some easy words, and complete simple CVC (consonant-vowel-consonant) words. So far, my preschooler and I have enjoyed using the plastic pieces and laminated letter pieces to go through the guided activity cards. Outside of the guided activities, her favorite activity has been to use the double-sided plastic shapes and bunny sandwiches to romp through the carrot letters in some sort of freeform creative play. I believe what initially helped make my preschooler feel comfortable was going through the activity cards together so that now she's comfortable occasionally taking out the counting and simple math cards to play around with. All in all, this LEARNING RESOURCES learning set is nicely constructed and thoughtfully put together to provide your preschooler with a wide range of learning activities. I would recommend this as a great learning resource option for your preschooler.

My three-year-old shows a lot of aptitude but struggles with following directions as he wants to play with things his own way. This has been great because we can sit down together and work through the exercises and help him to understand that there is time for unstructured play and time for structured play where you need to follow directions. The biggest challenge is that he enjoys this so much that he cries when it is time to stop playing with it. This offers great bang for your buck and I love how everything fits so nicely into the container. This would be a great gift option for 3-4 year old!
