If anyone has ever told you that the perfect commuting light doesn't exist, they're wrong. The Lezyne Hecto Drive 500XL is a darn near perfect little package for any set of handlebars. A single high output LED emitter lights the way in daytime or evening. Its 500 lumen Day flash mode gives an incredible 5 hours and 45 minutes of battery life and helps keep you safe on the road. The 500 lumen Blast mode gives an hour of battery life, perfect for your commute home after work, or riding home from errands or a night out. I had one of these lights thru three bikes. It worked very well and easy to cycle thru and remember settings. Als it failed and I bought another one of same model. It has been upgraded but appears to have the same quality. Easy to charge and easy to attach to bike. Thank you for keeping riders safe.

For all the positive reviews I read, nothing mentioned that the rubber cap would just fall off if you were on a bumpy road. I found it the first time it fell off the second time, gone for ever. Also I could not get this to keep a charge. I do not recommend this light.The only positive thing I have to say is when it charged it was bright as advertised.

This light is small and lightweight as you would expect but the big thing is the brightness. I have 2 other MTB lights from Amazon that claim much higher Lumen numbers but this this is just as bright and much smaller so it is perfect for mounting to your helmet. I use a different light in the bars because I already own one but if I didn't then I would buy a second one if these to put there as well. For MTB night rides it is good to have a 2 light setup with 1 on the bars and 1 on your helmet.

The light is ok and lives to the standard when it comes to the brightness and expected battery life. However there is big design flaw. The cap in the back falls off too easily. I was on a ride and going rather fast when I felt something fall and yes the cap was gone. Well, I use the bright light to find it. The usb stick that sticks out of the light is cumbersome for charging. I made myself a wire to charge the device, Others may not and break that fragile part and then it is all done for. I wish I could return the device but I went past the return time. There are many cheaper knock-offs out there but I tried this light because I have use Lezyne since 2013. Too bad the design does not live to its standards.

I’m very happy with this purchase. Definitely worth the money and you get a lot out of this small compact light that puts out a lot of light with 8 different settings! That’s way better than my much larger NightRider light on my handle bar. I was looking specifically for a small light I can mount to my helmet. I took a chance on this light based on another review. It fit the bill! It was exactly what I was looking for! All I needed was a spare rubber “O” ring that I used to attach to the last slot of the light’s harness. It gave me the right amount of stretch to mount the light securely on my helmet. Can’t say enough about the quality of this light and charging is a snap!

Utilisation de nuit (matin pour l'instant) en ville. J'eclaire fort bien. Plusieurs puissances possibles et intermittences.En aluminium semble très solide. Attache robuste. En même temps je ne l'ai pas fait tomber.Attache et enlèvement facile du guidon.La durée de charge en éclairage intermittent. Je fais 2,5 km à fond en environ 7mn avec 2 feux rouges et une petite côte. Cela doit tenir une 25/ 30 kmRecharge une fois par semaine.La clef usb plate intégrée permet de charger sans besoin de câble. Génial.

I had a Lezyne 350 that wouldn't hold a charge after a few years. I tried a couple of the cheaper front lights but was dissatisfied with the lack of options and the mounting brackets, so I returned them.I still don't know why this is a "Hecto Drive", but recognize that the light is reliable, holds a charge and has a simple mounting system that does not interfere with biking. Yes, it is more expensive than the cheaper front lights, but I expect it to last longer.

I love this headlight! It is so easy to use and the soft rubber band doesn't scratch my handlebars on my Trek bike. I was a little leery of how bright this would be. Something this small at this price point with only one LED usually indicates a dimmer light. Not so! I put this on high and the entire road immediately lit up in front of me. In fact it was too bright for oncoming cars on the high setting. I bumped it down to the next setting and it was perfect. If I had any issue that I would pick at, it would be the odd USB plug in. (See the pics). You pull the rubber cap off and it has a male USB connector sticking out. The entire unit then plugs into any USB charger. The issue is that it sits on top of the charger and because it's not flexible at all, you must have enough room around the charger for it to fit. This really is nitpicking a bit and I've had no issues with it. It could even be a positive as there is no cord to lose. If you are debating on whether you should get this light for nighttime road riding like I did, don't. You'll be very happy with it. I am!
