I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed using the LILY LADUE Pearl Wax Sand Candle Making Kit. The kit comes with everything you need to get started: a full pound of pearl wax sand, plenty of wicks, and a beautiful copper vessel that looks great on display.The process was simple and relaxing, even for someone like me who isn’t very crafty. I appreciated that the instructions were clear and easy to follow, making it a fun weekend activity without any stress. I've made candles using melted and poured wax in candle molds, and this kit is SO much easier! The wax does burn more quickly than poured candles, but lasts for some hours. The metal vessel is lovely, with a hammered texture, and well made -- no burrs or rough edges on the one I received. It's attractive enough to use as a basket for other things in between using it for candles.The kit includes plenty of wicks to get you started, and I tried some granular soy wax that worked nicely, so this candle making kit doesn't tie me to one supplier for wicks and wax. I like that the provided wax is biodegradable and seems like a good deal, but it's nice to have options. The kit includes enough wax for a couple of candles, enough for me to decide what kind of wax to buy going forward.The vessel is metal so it heated up as the candle burned. I put it on top of a trivet, which is my standard practice for all candles in containers.This candle making kit is super easy and fast (less than five minutes to assemble a candle), attractive, and burns well. I highly recommend it for beginners and for everyone else!

Overall, a great set, but some of the copper color on the bowl is rubbed off at the top of the bowl on the outside. This is a disappointment. I did find that there is a shiny copper spray paint available so I'll probably end up repainting the bowl at some point. I really like the hammered look. All you have to do is pour sand in too vessel, add wick, add a few drops of fragrance around the wick (or leave scent free) and light it up. The wax will melt around the wick so when you blow it out and let it cool, all you do is lift the wick out of the sand, cut away the melted part, re-insert wick, add scent, and re-light. Super easy and quick versus making candles the normal way melting wax, which I'm learning to do but sometimes I want quick and easy and this is the way to go. Easy enough project to do with a child. Great for gifting. Does need improvement with the paint job on the bowl, but overall still a nice kit.

This is a fun set and comes with everything you need to get started. Due to its presentation, it would also make a great gift set. The boat itself is pretty lightweight so I’m really unsure if this is truly bronze or just a mimic. It still LOOKS nice though.The instructions are pretty minimal but also fairly straight forward. I want to note that this comes with about 24 long wicks with disks at the end. This would usually make one assume that you have 24 wicks to use… not true! The wicks are long enough that you can actually snip them a few times and stick them in the sand. You do not need to use them with the disks, they will burn fine without them. Using smaller wick pieces also ensures shorter burn times. I usually trim each disk wick into 3-4 individual wicks.One you blow out the candle or let it burn down you just need to wait until the wax is cool to pluck it out and resettle the sand for the next use. If there’s still wick left (ie: you blew out the candle), you can relight it.This does appear to be clean burning. I’ve added my own essential oils to the sand just under the wick and that can add some scent to the air.With a longer wick, this does burn for a long time if placed almost all the way to the bottom. It went essentially the whole afternoon before it started even looking low at all.A very “fun” way to burn candles. It also provides a pretty elegant look too.

This candle is really nice with the wax beads that don't require melting. Just pop the wicks into the container and then pour the wax beads around them for a really nice decorative candle.

This is an exceptional pearl wax candle kit! I've never had a pearl wax candle kit so wasn't sure what to expect, but I would have to guess that this is one of the best kits out there. I've never like the "look" of candles once they have been used - they lose that perfect beauty so I was hopeful that this wax pearl candle would be able to restore, after burning, to that original state.The entire set was impeccably packaged. The bronze candle container is beautiful with a rich, deep color. The pearl wax beads were packaged in a resealable bag, and the candles wicks were included in an organza bag.I enjoyed immensely putting this together and seeing how this candle will burn down with the wax pearls. The wicks burnt down to the metal base and then went out, leaving only the metal base with a solidified melted wax pool surrounding it. The solidified wax was easy to pull out, I replenished a little of the wax pearls, put in 2 more wicks and we were ready to burn it again.This exceeded my hopes, so I definitely recommend this and I'm looking forward to getting more for other rooms of my house!
