Glad I purchased a separate coaxial cable as the one in the kit didn't work. Convert itself works like a charm was able to pair soundbar to older tv.

I wasn't ready to buy a new TV so used this as a quick around to interface sound bar to older flat screen. Passes and interfaces sound seamlessly. RECOMMENDED.

This product works as described. However, when I turned the coax input off, the converter produced a continuous noise, and I had to pull out the coax input terminal. So even if cheap, this one lacks an appropriate noise controller and is not recommended.

I've recently dipped into 4k players and to my annoyance, it seems the option of using optical cables have went out of style. Because of this, I had problems linking up my last player to the sound system. It wasn't the only problem I had with it admittedly and that Sony garbage eventually went back to Amazon. I eventually took a dive back in and acquired a Panasonic player. To my surprise it actually worked and it also suggested I buy one of these little things, a nice little gadget that solved one of my problems.The packaging is nice and simple. It is a sturdy little box. When opened it, I was surprised to find a coaxial and a optical cable as well as a set of instructions. It is well packaged with there not enough free room for anything to get rattled in postage. Okay, the cables are awfully short but they're useful if the range is adequate and you're a complete ignorant fellow like myself. I have since replaced them but I still appreciate the addition of them.This little device is simple enough to use really. You put your cable of choice in one side, have the other cable of choice coming out the other and use a mini USB to power it. It has a switch to select the input and multiple slots for other audio sources. It was very easy to unpack, install and has directed the audio to my sound system perfectly.I'm not the most familiar with setting up all these sort of devices but I have learnt a bit thanks to little gadgets like this.
