This is a great logic analyzer and the software has powerful decoding features for I2C, SPI and the like. It’s a little pricier than some other logic analyzers on the market, but you definitely get what you pay for.

I already had DSLogic Pro and it was great, but suddenly developed a need for soem analog channels and with DSLogic products you need to buy a separate two channel device for $300.Here you get 8 analog channels (not super fast, but enough for my needs) and the software turned out to be much better too - you get real "streamed" view of your channels (no matter digital or analog) vs DSView where developers mock you when you ask about streamed capture not really being streamed. In retrospect I wish I bought this from the get go and saved myself a bunch of money progressively advancing through better and better (but more and more expensive) things. If you are serious about signal analyzing (or think you might bet serious, I guess) - definitely get the best thing you can afford to save your money.

This particular unit was bought for our interns to help them learn and visualize CANbus operation. It was and is very helpful and allowed our interns to move forward with understanding CAN and proposing an initial design for their task.I own several (16 Pro and original 16) for personal use and use them to troubleshoot I2C, serial, SPI and my own add-on for IO-Link.This device is extremely useful to anyone who is interested in learning and troubleshooting low level communications protocols.Software is very, very easy to use and support is good.

I do a lot of projects and contract work that require oscope work. Often time, the oscope is not the right tool for the job though. I purchased this to fill in the gap and provide the right tool for the job. It's amazingly useful, intuitive, fast to get going. It's easy to use and provides amazing resolution. I've been using it for a few weeks now and it's made the jobs so much easier.

I bought this device to troubleshoot data errors between two RS485 devices, the setup was easy and being able to decode the data on the bus helped solve the problem. Built to last and software upgradable allows just about any hardware interface and protocol to be viewed and verified. All probes included, needs USB 3.0 for best experience.

Nice and compact tool. I purchased this back in 2018. It has saved my bacon a few times. I just downloaded the new software beta and it is a large improvement, especially with real time viewing now. I bought the pro because it interfaces directly with rs232 with no need for intermediate hardware. For that reason alone it is my favorite one to grab.

The important thing to know before buying this is there is *no* realtime view of the input. The only way to use it is to start a capture (which runs completely blind) and then once it's done, look at the saved data. You can't even see the logic levels/voltages of the inputs until after you've run a whole capture. The best you can do is set it for a short sampling period lke 100mS and keep clicking "start" to get an idea what you're looking at. A software mode where it sits there doing this in a loop would be at least a start, and could maybe be implemented using the remote control API of the UI software, but it should be built-in.So you need a scope too, and if you're thinking "Yay! I can get rid of that big ugly desktop scope and logic analyzer," no, you can't. Also there's no input scaling/attenuation/etc so if you want to do much with analog signals you'll need to keep them within 3.3v p-p or roll your own input scaling. That said, it's good for capturing and analyzing, and where it wins over the other options is that you can, e.g., sample an SPI transaction, decode it, and export the data to a file you can easily turn into a binary or hex dump. Also, the software UI (on linux at least) is fast and responsive and pretty easy to figure out.I do not yet have a feeling for its accuracy, either in terms of clock or analog voltage, nor have I played with RF range signals yet.
