The perfect lightweight boot. I've worn light weight hikers for the warmer months as a carpenter now for decades, as an alternative to heavier winter boots. I usually switch off by mid March here in the North East. I've worn Merrill's, Keen, Vasque, Danners and others I've forgotten about. The fit right out of the box with these Lowas is second to none. I've yet to own a boot that I didn't have to wait a couple weeks for the boot to conform to my foot until these. Somehow they have perfected the most ideal support in the upper and lower that creates zero pressure points around the ankle and toe box through the hinge zones when kneeling for example.Throughout my work day I am consistently going from standing to kneeling and walk approximately 10,000 steps a day (according to my watch) and am still amazed at how much the reduced weight compared to traditional boots, has decreased leg fatigue allowing me to retain my overall energy level.Comfort is spot on in the foot bed. The transfer of rough uneven surfaces translates minimally through the entire boot, especially around the ankle where it is needed most. The tread is not overly aggressive which I've found in other boots can actually snag while climbing scaffolding and ladders.I won't say much about the GorTex membrane. It's hands down simply the best for keeping your feet dry.Another unexpected feature about these boots is their ability to somehow not become sloppy when removed and upon putting them back on, the laces stay put in the lower. I simply side my feet back in and give a small tug on the laces from the ends, and tie them. No re-alligning the laces every time you put them on.Yes they are a little spendy if you're on a budget, but I assure you they are worth it. I can usually get two warm seasons out of my hikers and I suspect these will go the distance easily. I did find these at my local outdoor supplier for around $180 USD.

DO NOT order these boots from this seller! If you do not know your exact size in Lowa boots, when you return them you will only be refunded 50%. I was issued this boots in the military and wanted to purchase a pair for everyday use. I forgot they didn't offer wide so have to order a slightly larger boot. Received them, wore them around my house, realized they hurt, boxed them up and returned them - no outside wear or anything else. Received my refund approval today for 50% after I had already purchased a replacement pair. Yeah, those are going back and I will buy somewhere else.
