I've owned the same 5x14 since the late 70s. Except for changing out the snare wires at various times and trying different head combos over the years, this drum remains stock. It's been my workhorse, go-to snare. I play rock, country, bluegrass, pop all with this Acrolite. The variety of tunings to fit the music are incredible. I ran Remo Pinstripes for years. I like the clear heads of any brand. I'm currently running a 20-strand twisted Puresound snare, Evans 300 resonant head, Evans EC Coated Edge Control Reverse Dot batter head. Oh, I lied, my Acrolite isn't stock. I added a set of Gibraltar die-cast rims a couple of years ago. You should hear the rimshots now! For the price, you CAN'T go wrong with this snare in your arsenal.

shipping and international payment worked perfectly. Payment credited on Monday the snare was in Rome on Friday.Unfortunately it is not a Classic Acrolite as per the photo inserted in the ad but an Acrolite black galaxy. If it was a Europe sale I would have returned but thinking about the problems customs, taxes, transport I preferred to please me too black

This is a great snare drum.....classic! Every drummer should have one. While some might prefer to buy a used, older Acrolite for much less, some people just like new and are willing to pay a little more. If that is you, then you won't be disappointed. If you prefer the same drum for a cheaper price with no guarantees of no nicks, pitting or damage and like the built-in muffler, then buy a used Acrolite. Lots of different strokes for different folks.
