After having blown out a wheel on a previous trip I like to travel with a spare. Topo Designs wouldn't sell me one, so I found these. In a test run I was able to change them out with the Topo ones and they work perfectly in spite of being a few millimeters smaller in diameter.FYI, the whole wheel bracket needs to be removed. Empty the bag, unzip the center liner to access the nuts. It's a 10mm nut and a 5mm hex for the bracket screws you will also need a #2 Phillips for the screw that hold the shroud to the hard shell of the bag. A 4mm hex is needed for the wheel axle. I carry a 4" adjustable wrench for this so it's not single use and 2 small hex wrenches. Whole processes takes 10 minutes. I put everything in a zip lock bag and taped it to the bottom of shell inside the lining, that way it's always there.

Easy to install if the old wheels are removable. They were on this bag so piece of cake to pop the old, worn out wheels off and install these. We have not traveled since replacing the wheels on this bag so no comment when it comes to durability but they seem to be well made so hoping for the best.

These are the right fit to replace REI rolling luggage wheels. On a recent trip, my rolling bag was not moving smoothly, and I noticed one of the old wheels was delaminating--the rubber "tire" covering was coming off the wheels. It still moved, but felt a little like driving a car after one of your tires gets a flat.I recommend watching a YouTube video that shows the wheel replacement procedure for REI bags. Be aware that the YouTuber used slightly smaller replacement wheels --which might work OK, but I recommend instead getting these Size: 84*24mm, because they are almost exactly the same size as the originals. These replacement wheels come with almost everything you need, including the hex wrench tool that even fits the old parts. The only other tools you will need are: a wrench to hold the small locking bolt that fastens the axle into place, and a fine-pointed tweezer, to hold a washer in place as you insert the axle bolt. I used a small adjustable Crescent wrench; you could instead use a fixed size wrench, or even (if you use it carefully and avoid stripping the nut surfaces) a good quality pair of pliers. It took about 15 minutes to replace both wheels. These replacement wheels saved me a costly trip to the repair shop, and now the bag's rolling like new. I reused the axle bolts, nuts and washers from the original wheels. Those old parts still looked to be in great shape, and worked perfectly with these replacement wheels. I did not bother trying to use the axles that came with these wheels. The inside diameter of the new wheels fit perfectly on the old REI axle bolts. There was one very slight size mismatch that very was easily fixed. The wheel bearing parts on these replacements are very, very slightly less wide than the original parts. I used one of the included washers to fill the slight gap between the inner side surface of the wheel bearing housing and the hole where the axle enters the plastic on the luggage . The new wheel bearings work well and the rubber "tires" on these look fine. I will withhold a durability assessment until I see how well they hold up in use. For now, my trusty REI rolling carry-on is working like new.

These wheels replaced the worn-out wheels of my suitcase. The set came with bolts of different lengths to accommodate different style suitcases. This made it easy to install. The wheels run smoothly and I expect them to last a long time.

These wheels are sweet. Smoother than Guy Gadbois, sexier than Elke Sommer. They roll like Buddy Rich and handle cracks like Walter White. When our Samsonite luggage wheels lost their groove, we dremmeled the bejeezus out of them, binned the remains, bolted on a set of F-ber Luggage Suitcase Wheels and never looked back. Nothing F-bar about these wheels. They make me wish baggage claims went to Z! I'm getting wistful just thinking about how smooth these donuts roll. In fact I think I'll pull out my luggage right now and do a few laps around the block - start a neighborhood discussion. "Why indeed your are correct Neighbor Mike, those are not stock Samsonite wheels. They are in fact genuine F-ber Wheels. Thank you for noticing."
