304 Hex Lock Nut
Hexagon Head Lock Nuts
Used in conjunction with bolts and screws to connect and fasten the parts.
Hex style can make them easy to tighten with a wrench or socket. Be sure not to strip your nuts by over tightening. Use a nut that is consistent with your other fasteners.
Application

Stainless Steel 304
Composition
304 (A2) is the most extensively used austenitic stainless-steel. It's also known as stainless steel 18/8 which is derived from the nominal composition of 18% chromium and 8% nickel.
Thanks to the chromium content, 304 stainless steel products show excellent corrosion and oxidation resistance.
Weakness
304 Stainless Steel is more likely to corrode from saline environments in coastal areas. That means grade 316 stainless steel is highly recommended for tough applications under the marine environment where there is more powerful acids and chemicals.

Used these with some bolts on a trailer modification and they worked out great. Didn't have any nuts crack or round off, the nuts are holding tight on the bolt even with the vibrations the trailer sees going down the highway. These are similar to other lock nuts that I have on hand.

The AOESIN M10-1.0mm Hex Nylon Insert Lock Nuts, 304 (18-8) Stainless Steel, are fine thread.A Purple insert can indicate an Aircraft Grade lock nut. These are NOT aircraft grade. A2-70 is a low strength grade of stainless steel.I recommend these nuts for interior and exterior applications.
