I used these on some exhaust V-band clamps to replace the standard hex nuts. The V-bands have long threaded studs; the nuts are removed often (race car maintenance thing) and the standard nuts strip out easily. These coupler nuts provide significantly more thread mating so can be torqued more than the nuts and are unlikely to strip.
