Compressor is nice and quiet, does the job of blowing down test equipment from grain dust. Only draw back is the small tank capacity we need about 2 tanks to do the job required.Worked well for 5 months but now and has gotten louder when it is refilling. Wondering if it is about to quit working as it is used around a dozen times a day. Time will tell.

Testing this out today I wanted to blow the sand off my tractor foot pedals. I had to let the tank fill 3 times before the tractor was clear of sand and debris (it's a small foot area)then I decided to test it on my truck tire which was low at 25 PSI...i had to let the tank fill twice to pump this tire up to 35 psilong story short, it will get the job done if you are patient and let the tank refill

Very quiet and light weight/compact. Down side is... it’s really small and doesn’t hold much air so you end up waiting on it a lot. Can’t really fault the compressor for that though, it’s basically in the product description. I’ll probably end up getting an auxiliary tank for it, still better than lugging around a bigger compressor.

In all honesty,I’ve owned numerous compressors and come from a family of finish carpenters. So I’ve been around compressors since birth. This thing is super quite, while filling up my tires alittle far I didn’t even know if it was turned on since it was quite, and I’m not lying.i followed the guide to run the pistons and hope for it to last. Also not sure if it was just mine or all of them but you have to raise the pressure up considerably.i went to fill my tire and it did nothing, then raised pressure and slowly checked since alittle can move it a bit, And I didn’t want to overload anything. Now this things a champ. I have yet to test with an 18G finish nailer, but in all honesty I doubt there would be an issue after all every compressor works with them. And please don’t be stupid, if you need a lot of air buy a bigger compressor. Any compressor this size is only good for small jobs and if you Only work one gun with pauses in between like me. Still good for a 2 man crew of someone cuts everything and one guy nails then does chaulking. Please be realistic, Makita’s amazing for there bigger compressors so I’m hoping the same goes for this little guy.

Even after reading other reviews saying how small this unit is, I was still surprised when I actually pulled it out of the box. It's small, and light enough for even an old guy like me to carry around with one hand. I ran it for 20 minutes to break it in, per the instructions, and couldn't even hear it when I walked out of the room. I tested it with two Makita nailers I also just got (an 18 gauge brad nailer and a 16 gauge finish nailer). I used scraps of oak molding, nailing them to a scrap length of 2x4. Half a dozen shots in row (many times faster than I'd use the nailers for real) were no problem at all. This isn't intended for a pro roofing a house, but for an amateur DIYer like me, this little compressor is absolutely perfect.

I have this little ac001 and the mac2400 from Makita. I love them both for different reasons. This little guy I use quite regularly, definitely more than I thought I would. From tires to brad nails to whatever needs air it does great. Haven’t pumped up my truck tires but it did great on my moms car and my motorcycles. Biggest pros are the unmatched quality and how quiet it is. Honestly your kitchen faucet makes more racket than this thing I love it

This is an excellent unit FOR CERTAIN INTENDED USES.It’s very light, very compact, very well built, and the quietest compressor I’ve ever had. Best of all, it doesn’t require much current at all to start and run full cycle- meaning it can be used at any plug, and doesn’t mind being used at the end of long extension cords.I bought it for portable use around the home and shop, applications where carrying this is easier than dragging hundreds of feet of hose around from a stationary compressor.Applications this will be god for:-small blowgun jobs, cleaning small parts or clearing dust from small areas- bikes, balls, sports equipment-filling automotive, light truck, ATV, lawn equipment tires-air powered finish/trim nailersThe tank is just a gallon and the CFM of the tiny compressor isn’t much.As long as you aren’t making unrealistic expectations of this compressor, it will be handy for many, many uses home and shop alike.

the unit is a 5 star in quality & design. i love how clean and precise the components & air lines are. the cage is a bonus for protection and in the case of mobile storage - if things fall on it. it's super compact & only 22#. if they'd just be up front with what it can and more importantly CANNOT do.my RV tires are new and i have a feeling the installer didn't inflate them to 110 but instead to ~ 85. it's colder now and they started at 78. it took one hour to get to 103 before i gave up, 0.7 agonizing psi at a time. the only reason i fussed that long was that this is my first compressor - i knew i had a learning curve.you have to wait for it to max at 125 psi & auto-shut-off. then turn the regulator to max + (also 125). then you're ready to inflate, letting it drop to around 110. then you need to manually let air out of drain valve as it doesn't auto-inflate until around 90 psi. and keep repeating that process.it probably would top off car tires - (35 psi) fine. i didn't have any energy to try my F450 (85/75) but it may do that tire style better too.

Very quiet machine for the first two days. Then it started making a loud noise. Called Amazon to return but it was past 30 days. Called Makita and they said to take it to the local repair station. The local repair station said it was a loose shroud and that they put some lock tight on it. This lasted for one day and now it is making a loud noise again. It is a nice light machine but the compressor design is flawed. Had the compressor in twice to the repair shop going on my third trip. On the last trip he had to drill a hole in the side of the compressor to tighten the concentric connecting rod bolts which had come loose. He put lock-tight on it but it still came loose. I am not happy with this compressor. Makita is just trying to run out the warranty with me.

Nicelly made and performs well for my intended purpose. I wanted a compact air compressor to air tires on my pickup and my travel trailer. I also needed a unit that would fit underneath the tonno cover on my truck which has about 20" of clearance. The unit is very quiet, especially for an oil less compressor. It is light enough to move easily Bear in mind, it doesn't produce a lot of volume, so, running most air tools is out of the question. Nailers probably would be ok.
