I enjoy this tool. I've always used my bigger cordless drill for mixing thinset and such. However I was able to price this in a job and I'm glad I did. Should take the wear and tear off of my drills and has great Makita build quality. My one complaint is that there is no place to store the Chuck key.

Tool does not reverse. REverse is handy for cleaning mixing paddles.The tools chuck key and chuck do not work well together. The chuck key is sloppy in the chuck and difficult to tighten because of the sloppyness.

Excellent mixing drill , especially if you are already invested in the Makita 18v tool line. I have been working in the plastering industry for 43 years ( 25+ as a contractor) and have used many dedicated corded mixing drills such as makita , dewalt , harbor freight etc. this drill performs very well( using 5.0 amp and 6.0 batteries ) and is handy in the jobsite as you are not teathered to a cord. Only caveat is no reverse gear selection, which I do not understand why he was omitted.Mixes, my plasters, mortars and cement, stucco mixes with no problem with its high and low speeds 4 inch, 6 inch, cage, spiral and square mixing paddles. Should’ve purchased it years ago., the only reason For delayed purchase was I held out for that reverse gear option. Which never came.

Tile installer, works great for mixing mud. Battery dont last long keep them charged it likes them.
