This product was purchased for use with polymer clay. The first observation is that it leaves HUGE ripples in the clay which for the price is completely unacceptable. Secondly, the motor is horrendously loud and keeps trying to dislodge itself from the unit itself. I purchased the Atlas 180. When putting the clay in the pasta machine, regardless of the clay thickness, the machine makes a horrible grinding noise and you can see the motor start to wobble and try to throw itself off the machine. I paid almost $200 for this machine and feel this is disappointing and disgusting for the price paid. My clay has chunks dispelled each time they are put through and the strips look very dirty. I cannot recommend this product or brand to anyone. The motor is a convenience but it is wasting clay and making pieces look tacky. I will be returning.

I bought this to use for clay, and am immediately sending it back. The motor is very loud and is getting hot and smells with only 5 minutes of use. The clay is being rolled unevenly and with wavy lines because the motor is continuously surging and torquing. Complete fail for clay use. The attachement I have for my mixer works much better than this overpriced hunk of junk.

I use this for clay. It’s much better using a motorized roller. This is a big step up from craft store models. Makes smooth product quickly. Worth the investment.

The delivery service was amazing. Ordered on 27 April and received on 8 May in Cape Town.I forgot about the difference in voltage 110V and 220V but managed to buy a 300W converter for R375 at Hamrad. The pasta machine works very well for domestic use.I had a commercial machine, Imperia R220, before but I am still impressed. I think the R220 cost about 6 times the price.

Yes, the motor is worth the extra cost. Why, because it allows you to use both hands while running the dough through the machine. And, even if you had an extra set of hands to turn the hand crank, I doubt you could achieve the smooth operation provided by the electric motor. Also you will appreciate the wider rollers on the motor assisted machine. Good pasta too, by the way!
