Sighting along the length of the ruler there is a distinct dip on the imperial edge . Why this should be defeats me - as a ruler it has two things to accomplish - be straight and measure accurately, unfortunately the metric scale is shortened to 200mm by the addition of 4 inches of good old imperial , why?This is an example of good old British manufacturing - failing on every bit of functionality ( 2 ) - how hard can it be ?Luckily the safety bit, which is why I bought it in the first place, it accomplishes with great applomb , keeping fingers well out of the way from potential amputation.The straightness and the metrology are of minor importance to me - they may be, however, to others, so please have a look at your manufacturing Maun. You know it makes sense.

The very sturdy metal design is perfect for added safety when cutting with a very sharp blade. Makes a great straight edge. The 'engraved' measurement scales can be difficult to read but overall a must have for any serious modeller's toolbox.
