This is a functional sample dipper with a very long six-foot reach when the steel telescoping handle is fully extended (actually longer than the labeled 1.7 m). It might be a minor quibble for some, but the plastic scooper is acrylic rather than HDPE. The construction method appears to be that of an acrylic tube welded to an acrylic sheet roughly cut to shape to form the bottom. I am not sure how well this will hold up over time, but be aware it's not a single molded piece as you're probably used to using. [After writing this review, I realized that the product description actually says acrylic but the big bold title at the top says HDPE -- highly misleading and something I missed when ordering.]A bigger issue is that the dipper is not field-adjustable. The scoop is held onto the handle with a wingnut screw and bolt. You will need a wrench to hold the bolt in place to get the scoop tight enough if you need to change the angle (or just correct the angle after inadvertently dropping the scooper).Overall, this product is a nice attempt to make a sample dipper, but seemingly by someone who has never used one before. If you're willing to put up with the problems, this is a good budget dipper.

Item was VERY well packaged. It is easily adjustable and does what I need it to do. Would definitely recommended.
