The original ignitor was silicon carbide with Carrier 8000TS furnace in year 2001.Another silicon carbide was used to replace the original one which failed in yeqr 2014.This year 2024, I bought this new type of ignitor (silicon nitride type) as a spare because the second one has been working for nearly 10 years and may fail any time.Silicon nitride type is is more robust than the silicon carbide one.

I got this igniter for my furnace because at a quick glance it appeared to be the same. I had to swap the connectors, but it did mount in the bracket just fine. I'm so thankful to have my furnace back up and working again. I would definitely purchase this again, but I would probably check my part numbers a bit more closely.
