I bought the mi-fold because I liked the compact design. It is very light and small. Easy to move from one vehicle to the next. Easily fits in a bag for convenient carrying. It doesn't take up any space in the car because it fits right under the child. It grows with your child. You can adjust the setting of the seat belt holders, red tabs on the sides, depending on how wide your child is. This is nice so that when others sit in the back seat with him, they have more room! Contrary to what other reviews have said about the "red plastic tabs not locking into place", I took the mifold and hit the red tabs hard with my hands several times to see if they moved from the adjusted position. They stayed very firm and in place, there was no movement at all with them. The quick clip snaps to the shoulder strap and you can adjust it to keep the strap off the child's neck. My son loves it because he is no longer sitting up high in a booster. He is sitting flat on the seat because the mifold is so thin. His legs used to sometimes fall asleep in the booster on longer car rides because of how it was hitting the back of his legs. He hasn't complained about that since switching to the mifold. I highly recommend the mifold. His only complaint was that it took longer for him to belt himself in. Now that he has had it for awhile he is much faster.

I'm amazed at how small this booster seat is yet it puts my daughter in the same position as her bulky booster seat would. Installation is easy once you adjust the height of the strap that connects at the shoulder. I keep it in my minivan when we pick up a friend and need an extra seat. It folds up and into the seat pockets- sparing my trunk space. I think it will be perfect for Taxi/Lyft/Uber rides when we travel out of town and we plan to use it next month for a flight as well! Our neighbor saw it and bought one as well. It's great for her husband's work vehicle that he brings clients in frequently. He can quickly move it out of the way and it's not noticeable!

Bought this last week because we were taking a trip to Atlanta. We were visiting my little sister, but I anticipated there may be times when she would be busy and we'd have to catch an Uber. Lugging around a booster chair to places like the zoo just didn't seem like a legit solution, but my son just turned four, is 43 inches tall and 43lbs, so I didn't want to go without a carseat. This was small enough to put in his backpack for the flight (we fly Spirit and use only one personal item sides bag each, so small was a must), and in my purse while we jetted around Atlanta. It was super fast to set up in the cars, and he was very secure. It really is such a smart design. Rather than boost the child up, it simply holds the seatbelt down so that it falls correctly on the lap. There's even a strap to help keep the shoulder strap from riding up into their neck. When we were ready to hop out of the car, it was a cinch to grab and go. I've even, already, had an occasion to use in now that were back home. We dropped my husband off at work coming back from the airport this morning and my big sister helped out by picking my son and I up from his work. She has two kids of her own and there was no third carseat. Not a problem since we could grab the miffed from my son's backpack. So thrilled with our purchase and my son loved it. I'll use his regular carseat for day to day travel, but will definitely keep this handy, especially for future trips.

We ordered 2 of the same color at the same time. Date of manufacture is one month apart..HOWEVER...the 2 units are NOT the same.- One unit has the adjustable sides that only lock outward, but not inward and will easily slide back in. I think this was the initial design based on all the reviews I have seen.- The other unit does not have that same design so the sides do solidly lock in the position they are set at. It appears they have been updated to keep them from sliding inward as well. I am guessing this is when the design may have been updated. This is kind of annoying because I really like how the second unit operates. I am honestly considering purchasing another locally instead of on Amazon to insure I get a newer unit with the updated design. The change makes a big enough difference to consider it.2 other issues that can be a problem.- In certain contoured seats like the Audi we had, the rear portion of the MiFold does want to fold upward which changes the fit for the child and can be uncomfortable. There are videos on how the MiFold should be placed in contoured seats versus flat seats. WATCH THEM. Be sure to explain that to your child when getting in so they have the right fit every time. You may have to assist them.- Your child may complain that they are uncomfortable. I think a lot of this has to do with initial placement int the seat.My children didn't like them at first, but once they were well versed on how to use them, they didn't seem to complain anymore. We just went on out first trip with these and used them for about a week daily. My kids are 4 1/2 and 7 1/2. There was a learning curve on getting the kids set up with these. After a quick YouTube visit and showing the kids what to do, we were good. By the end of the week they were able to get themselves in an out of the car on their own. That's a win. ***Be prepared to explain and/or show to Rideshare drivers or others that these are safety/booster seats, but rather than bringing them up to seat belt height, it brings the belt down to them. Also make sure these do follow your local child safety laws.***In the end we though these were great for travelling. We liked the size and ease of use. The kids seemed to like them too. Would I buy them again...YES. Would I buy them from Amazon without knowing which version I would get...NO. BuyBuyBaby and others carry these for not much more and I would do whatever you could to get the new version. I will try to upload photos later of the difference between our 2 units.
