The exterior, while extremely cute, is a slippery polyester that makes it difficult to remove anything smooth such as a casserole dish from the oven without dropping it. Worse, the fabric melts on contact -- even extremely brief, accidental contact -- with a hot burner. Considering that the whole point of this product is for use around a stove, my very cute mitts went into the trash.

These oven mitts are so cute! They are made very well, are heat resistant, and not stiff like most others. They provide a nice grip to lift heated items. Would buy again!

I got these for the chicken theme and wasn't too sure about the quality, but these are actually really good oven mitts and we have gotten a few compliments about them. I would without question but these again.

These are well constructed, unlink the kind you find in your local stores, these seem to have a lot of protection from heat. I tested them with making chocolate chip cookies and used one of these and one of my existing mittens, and I can say without a doubt that these are much better than the ones I purchased just a few weeks ago locally. Sadly, the ones I bought locally were also more costly, each of them cost as much as two of these that you get in the set.The box they come in isn't really anything to brag about, it's not like you could gift them without wrapping, but they are nice and they do insulate very well.The only down side was when washing them, it lost some of the color. I kept one aside and just washed one. It didn't reduce the effectiveness at all, but it's a noticeable difference in color, so you might want to make sure you wash them together.It didn't appear to leak any color on anything else, and I washed them in a load with darker clothes and with no bleach at all, but it lost a couple shades. When I washed the second one, it matches the first in color now, and just to check, I washed that second one a second time, but it kept that shade, so I guess its just something that happens with the first wash.I'm going to deduct one star for the lack of initial colorfastness.
