Nicely designed with second covered pocket, big pocket at the head so that bows can't fall on the violin.I measure 4.4 pounds (not the listed 3.8).This is a hard foam case, for lightness. If you want robust violin protection, get wood (or maybe plastic, fiberglass, etc.).Just received - can't comment on sturdiness yet.
