Nothing like OEM. Previously purchased a off brand to save $. That was a failure. Ended buying this one and worked instantly. Love OEM.

I had a coolant leak for several years and could not find the source. Once discovered, I found this valve on amazon and then found installation instructions on youtube. This combination worked great and no need to carry antifreeze in my vehicle.

I was told the product would fit my vehicle specifically. Turned out not to be true.

Perfect fit in my 2003 Ford Ranger 2.3 liter. I wish Ford made a metal one, but this works totally fine. It's a super easy install, too: all you need are pliers, extra coolant for what you'll spill, and maybe 10 minutes.

The old one broke, and I can see why: the whole piece is plastic, so the tubes can sheer off of the body due to age or stress. I was very careful replacing it, so I'm not anticipating it to go bad any time soon, but be careful. Be nice if this was a stronger part with some metal here and there.

This is a genuine Ford Motorcraft YG350 Heater Control Valve, that needed replacement from a leaking, original valve in a 1998 Ford Explorer XLT model with V6 (X) engine. I'm sure it will fit all Ford Explorer models as well as other applications, be sure to check your repair manuals. When replacing this valve, make sure to be very careful not to break any of the four outlets that connect 2 outlets to the heater core connections on the passenger side, engine firewall. Two other outlets connect to the engine, thermostat housing and water pump outlets. Make sure the molded heater hoses fit and align perfectly before tightening each hose with stainless steel worm type clamps. Wish this valve was made of aluminum instead of plastic, just don't break it. Replace all radiator hoses and refill with Walmart, 50/50 Antifreeze, no rust ever. All radiator heater hoses, this valve and a radiator were ordered through Amazon, can't beat the FREE door delivery service nor the prices. This is a time consuming job, but patience and planning will prevail for the average do it yourselfer. Have some fun and a great day!

I foolishly saved some money about a year ago when this valve started leaking in my Ranger. About a month after I put that off-brand valve in, it started leaking, and got worse over time. This time I decided to spend a few dollars more and get the Motorcraft valve. So far, so good (over two months). This valve is a pain to replace - this thing connects four hoses and the hose clamps in my truck are in awkward positions. Rather than do the job twice a year apart, I wish I'd just bought the Motorcraft part to begin with.
