Been using this mount for my dual monitor arms on my tempered glass desk for about 3 years and I am very satisfied. This will distribute the weight of the monitors over a greater area of the desk giving the desk more resilience and reducing the chances of it cracking or breaking under heavy loads. Its definitely a set it and forget it product. The soft foam bottom is very appreciative to my glass desk making removal or replacement very easy and safe. I don't have to worry about scratches or chips from it being clamped down.If you have a glass desk and need something to disperse the weight of monitors or speakers I would highly recommend this product

This is a must have for thin faux wood desks and glass desks. It can serve a dual functionality. The one shown in the photo or, as I used it. Upside down with the break formed lip turned up towards the ceiling and a hole drilled in the center. I had to through bolt my monitor mounting arm rather than clamping but it serves the same purpose; which is to stiffen the desk substrate sufficiently to take the vertical dead load (weight) and dead load moment (bending/torque). You do not want to see your desk deflecting inward when you pull your 27" monitors closer to your eyes. It is solid steel plate of good quality and looks good underneath the monitor column. Installation was easy despite having to drill a hole. There are really no adjustments other than flipping it or modifying it to suite your application.

So if you attach a heavy object to the end of a long arm, there's going to be a lot of twisting force at the base of where that object is attached. It's the same reason why holding a weight very far away from your body is harder than holding it close to yourself. When I installed my monitor on a very long cantilever arm mount and then attached it to the inexpensive desk I purchased from Amazon, I was afraid that I could possibly have the whole thing rip from its base and destroy the composite board desk and the monitor in the process. Luckily the desk is designed in a way that I was able to mount both the upper and lower plates to the desk, this allows the force that is clamped and twisting against the desk to be dispersed and since it has been installed I have noticed no more creaks from the desk as I move the orientation of the monitor around to suit my needs throughout the days and weeks of use. (According to Amazon's AI, this review didn't talk about ease of use, appearance, quality, or stability so here goes) The plates are solid metal with thin foam pads attached so they are very high quality. I bought the black ones, so they blend into my black desk very well, so their appearance is very nice. All I had to do was loosen the mount just enough to slide the metal piece underneath and the top piece literally rests on the desk so easy of use and ease of assembly are as easy as can be. The entire review was about how the torque of the monitor was dispersed.over a larger area so the stability is exactly what it needs to be. Hopefully you and the Amazon AI think this review is helpful now.

Definitely helps distribute the point load caused by my four mounted monitors (two 32” curbed below with two 27” flat above). Without this the direct weight of all this gear would likely split, or at least damage, my desk. If you are investing in a multi monitor stand, you will want one of these support plates.

Because of how my desk is built, I was not able to use the included legs for my monitors because they would hang off the front and back of the shelf that was meant to place your monitors, which did not sit well with me.Additionally, this shelf actually sits on top of a rectangular set of 1inch thick square shaped bars. This meant that the .monitor stand would only havethe width of the shelf, as well as about 1 inch of metal bar to clamp down on and support 44lbs of very expensive monitors. To mitigate this, I bought this monitor support, and a very precisely measured and cut block of wood to fill in the gap, and was able to fashion and very strong central support for the monitors. This piece does a great job of keeping the monitors from wobbling around at the desk.

I was looking for an extended plate for my clamp mounted monitor mount. This mount had everything that I was looking for, width and depth, to help protect my desk. I'm in the process of upgrading to a butcherblock top, but have no doubt that this will help my setup hold true when said and done.
