Belt Tensioner With Pulley + Idler Pulley Set (Total 4pcs)
Belts wear out over time, but if your belt is fraying and slipping, the issue is likely in the tensioner. Watch the tensioner to see if it is moving. It shouldn’t move much at all, but if you can see it move consistently and you have squeal, then the tensioner is shot.
You may have issues with your charging system or power steering as well. Typically, a worn tensioner will make noise along with the slipping, but if you have a check engine light for the charging system or the power steering system seems heavier than normal, checking the tension on the belt is a place to start.
