Tips
- Set the aquarium water level at the recommended water level line.
- A new skimmer usually takes 1 or 2 weeks to break in.
- It is recommended to clean the pump every 1 or 2 months.
POINTS FOR ATTENTION
CHECK THE SIZE OF YOUR AQUARIUM AND THE DIMENSIONS OF THIS SKIMMER PLEASE BEFORE PLACING AN ORDER.
- NOT for rimmed tanks
- It can be hanged either on the aquarium or the sump.
- The skimmer body is submerged in water, NOT outside the aquarium.
- Not only the pump but also the skimmer body should be submerged in water.
- It will take space in the aquarium if there's no hang-on filtering system at the back of the tank.
- As it's not a big skimmer, the volume of the reaction chamber is limited, patience is needed while adjusting to achieve the best effect.
- Dry running will cause permanent damage to the pump.
Tips for breaking in
Maintain the water level line inside the skimmer at the neck when you set up the skimmer. Open the sewage outlet to prevent overflow. And let it run for a couple of days. The foam may not go into the cup during this process.
Then you’ll see skimmate has been generated, the dark things, and the water level in the skimmer cavity fluctuates. Please still try to maintain the water level line inside the skimmer at the neck and let it run for another couple of days. And keep the sewage outlet open.
After that, rotate the collection cup to tune the water lever in the skimmer body, and make the foam go into the cup perfectly. And close the sewage outlet.
However, overflow or lack of flow may still happen again. The process above usually needs to be repeated for several times until the skimmer finally breaks in.

This skimmer for the value is probably one of the best skimmerd for a Innovative Marine Nuvo 20. It works quite well and does it's job efficiently. It fits nicely in the second chamber in my Nuvo 20.

I just got this a couple days ago and it’s already broken in and working. I put it in the back of my 29 gallon tank. Should have got the larger one but wasnt sure if it would fit in the chamber. Already collecting skimmate. Pic is skimmate after 48 hours. Recommend to wash with vinegar to quicken then break in process.

The skimmer is well built. The collection cup is so small and this unit is so sensitive. I turn everything off to feed, once I turn everything back on, the skimmer lost its foam. Back adjusting again. It’s been 3 days and constantly adjusting. I don’t want to do adjustments daily.Final result:Returned the product. The skimmer required consistent adjustment daily. Since this skimmer was used on AIO tank, when the collection cup fills up, the overflow splashes outside the tank causing the wall behind the tank to gets wet.I purchased a bubble magus and compared this unit. Bubble magus stayed consistent with a few adjustment. The collection cup overflow is designed to flow only 2 direction which falls into the tank. Walls and floors are safe.

It’s incredibly easy to set up and operate effectively, all while offering an amazing price. It boasts low noise levels and a powerful DC pump. I highly recommend it to everyone!P/S: update!!After one month, the water overflowed even though I set it to the lowest water level. I no longer use it. The parameter is normal though.

This thing is tiny! It’s in the first chamber of my Landen 35C, which is roughly 3”x3” and it fits wonderfully! It’s still breaking in, so there are micro bubbles in the first and second chambers. With the way the chambers take water out at the bottom and in at the top, along with filter floss, none of them are making it to the display tank. It’s fairly straightforward to adjust. My only complaint is there is no “water line” sticker on the body? You can tell where it’s supposed to go if you’ve used a skimmer before, but a sticker would be nice. The adjustments are great, I’m able to get it running and breaking in. I really thin I’m going to be happy with it, and the price was amazing! Quality is really nice too! Great job on this nano skimmer.If you’re not putting it in an AIO chamber, the micro bubbles may be too much, we’ll have to see if they calm down after a few days. I’ve only had it running for 1 day, and they have gotten better, but still there.

I bought this for a 15 gallon HelloReef, and it fit in the back center chamber with 2 heaters, no problem. Working on getting it dialed in, but tiny turns of the knobs is all it takes. No noise, lots of air, it was easy to put together and install, the build is solid, thick plastic, collection cup on top is tight.
