We opened the box, and realized there was a chip (and a stain??) on the head of the whale (see pic). No idea what the stain is (hoping it's not someone's blood - gross), but when I saw the chip I went back to read the reviews, and someone else said the chip is a manufacturing defect, that the seller wouldn't replace it, AND that the defect is even shown in the picture on the box (which it is!!!). Totally missed that when I bought this. I can't return it now because I bought this before baby was born and just now opened it a few months later, but definitely disappointed. Would not recommend, which is too bad, because it would have been cute, and Nautica is usually a good brand.

Perfect for our soon to be baby boys ocean themed nursery. My only complaint is that there was a small nick on the base that could have been from shipping but either way.

Very very cute. Probably a bit overpriced but I really love this lamp. I put it in our spare bedroom which I have decorated in a little boys nautical theme for my grandson

Huge dent in whale head that was painted over, which means that that manufacturers knew it and still painted it and sold it :(. Called Nautica they said they didn’t care and if you don’t like it then return it. Nautica customer service said that’s the way it’s made and there’s nothing they can do. Horrible customer service and quality control. I used to be a Loyal Nautica customer, too. If you look at my photos at the forehead dent - then look carefully at the amazon picture you can actually see that the dent is in the sales photo. (The dent is actually on the photo on the box!)

I really like this lamp I just wish it had settings for level of light for the light bulb.

Perfect size for a nursery! The shade is striped with the same green and dark blue stripes as well as accented with a medium blue stripe. The lamp is sturdy and comes with a light bulb. Perfect for gift-giving.

My wife and I bought this to go in my brother and sister's nursery. The colors fit their scheme to a tee. And given that they were decorating with a nautical theme, this lamp was a must.
