I was surprised to discover that my heavy duty 4 outlet extension cord didn't plug into my generator, even though I bought them together and they are made by the same company.I took me a bit of searching, after I learned the different terms for the various plug and outlet types, but this was exactly what I was looking for!

I used this as an adapter to connect a small 4000w backup generator to an electrical panel. I set it up exclusively for 120v 20amps to run a freezer, a refrigerator, and lighting to my shop due power outages California has been having. This adapter works great! I purchased another adapter for 240v 50amps to connect another generator as a backup to run my main home for emergency power. They all work great!!! Very pleased.

We got this to convert our standard (120v) 30amp generator plug to a more common 30 amp (220v) 4 prong home backup plug/cable. This will only power one leg of your panel and not the other. Knowing this, it works well as a emergency backup for the items specifically placed on the incoming leg of power. It should also be noted, this plug is not UL listed and hasn't been tested under their standard.
