Defect in the plastic fitting catches on an internal valve, causing the system to jam.

Tried installing this piece five times and each time it leaked through the area where it protrudes through the case. I thought that I just couldn’t get the inner seals in place correct. I put the old piece back in and it did not leak. So obviously the tolerance is on this unit are off enough where it did not fit correctly.

Don't Waste your Money and Time. The Rotor&Disk shaft is undersize. The o- ring won't seal. I used the seal kit but had to use the old rotor. Amazon gave a $25 credit for a $70 Rotor.

Put this kit in my water softener. It was the correct kit but caused my drain to flush back into the brine tank not out the drain line. Pulled apart and reinstalled several times to verify everything was put together peoperly. It was. Put all my old stuff back in and it worked fine. Still leaked (original problem I was trying to fix with this kit). But drained like it should. Ended up replacing entire unit.

Item I felt was defective while installing. While coating "wiper" with grease I felt what was a tiny nick on the wiper. It wasn't from packaging, or shipping. Well, I thought I would try it anyway. My mistake. Brine suction turned into brine fill and way to much water discharge out of drain. Vendor wanted to make it right but I had already bought a new wiper and seal (wiper sets on). Problem solved. 4 stars is for the customer service I received for a defective part that wasn't their fault.
