This really is the least user-friendly item. I just needed a solid piecrust cover. I have been happy with Nordic. Wear products in the past. I just had to deal with this one falling apart and having to try to put it back together while hot. Very dissatisfied. I do not recommend.

Perfect fit for Pyrex 9.5" glass pie dish purchased at Walmart. Dish dimensions are actually 9.25" inner lip diameter, and 11.25" outer lip diameter. Lays flat on empty dish and easily adjusts to conform nicely to outer lip. See attached photos. Light, sturdy, not flimsy. Hope this takes the guesswork out of finding a crust protector for this particular brand and size pie dish. Definitely recommend.

I like this product so much this is the second I have ordered. This allows me to bake two pies at the same time. The only concern is the narrow rim does get hot and a little fiddly to remove for those last minutes of browning crust.

It does not cut through the crust as good as the other ones I bought. Will try it out again, but did not have the time to figure it out.

The designs are so pretty but the mold itself doesn't have sharp edge to cut out the pattern. I have to stuck my soft pie dough on it (reversely,) then I used fingers to press down the dough to cut all the shapes out. Pulling the dough back out from the mold reversely after completion "cutting the shapes out" before laying the dough in the center of the pie tray as the top layer. Not so easy.

I like pies, but sometimes it's hard to get the right bake on both the crust and the filling. This pie shield does a great job bridging that gap. Before getting this shield I had done the tinfoil thing. That's not fun. It likes to fall off. Hard to add or remove on a pie in a hot oven. Etc.I looked at various other options, single-piece metal shields, silicone shields.I'm glad I chose this one. The adjustable pieces snap together easily and allow me to use both larger or smaller than 9" pans without dealing with awkward fit. When assembled it's a bit floppy, but effective and easy to handle both adding and removing. Best to wash carefully and by hand, in my opinion. I leave mine assembled for storage. Most recently I used this for a quiche with a hash brown crust. It was over-filled (my bad) and I was afraid the shield would bake onto the filling. It barely stuck at all (one small area) and was simple to clean up afterword. Also, I like to support Nordic Ware out of respect for their US manufacturing footprint. While it's disappointing to see products like this pie shield made in China, at least they are honest about the country of origin. Found at least 3 places in the product description.

Sehr schönes Muster. Nicht ganz einfach weil man die Muster aus dem Ausstecher rausfummeln muss aber der Effekt ist die Arbeit wert.

Just about a month ago, I bought a Pro 600 Kitchenaid mixer from Amazonas a graduation gift to myself because I have recently been baking pies, cakes, cookies, breads and pizza, all from scratch. I wanted to dress up mydouble-crust pies in a more artistic and professional way. So, I orderedtwo pie top cutters along with some other items last month. It took a longtime for them to arrive because of Post Office problems-- I had to pickthem up a few days ago-- but I am quite satisfied with the Hearts andLattice pie top cutter.First, it's a terrific deal that it's two pie cutters in one. I honestlycan't tell you which one I like better, the lattice design or the hearts. A10-year warranty is a pleasant surprise, but no surprise, as the cutter iswell-made of heavy plastic. The wide handles are only for looks to me-- Ialways dust the cutter with flour and press all over to make sure thecutouts are well done and release easily. I do the same thing with biscuitsEither the picture or the description is not doing justice to theHearts pattern because there are two different sizes of hearts in thedesign. A small heart is given at every 90 degrees and a medium heart isgiven every 90 degrees between those. A minus point for not having acentral vent hole, but that's a minor concern. The fact that the outside of the pie top cutter is raised and taperedto a edge for cutting is a real plus-- roll out your pastry dough, then cutout the design and cut it to size in one step! It's 12.25" (31.3 cm) wide,so you may not need to trim any pastry from the lip of the pie pan. It fitsmy 10" stoneware pan just fine, but your results will depend on how highyou pile on the apples, pears, etc.The lattice design is a wonderful, unsimplified implementation of thoserosette designs that I made with a pencil compass and colored as a pre-teen. They were so fascinating that I drew hundreds of them. This design isbased on an eight-point star, which makes it more interesting. It's a farcry from the all-too-common diamond lattice or basket weave, that's forsure. I made a lady laugh when I told her it was "man" enough for me-- nofrilly lace or flowers for this manchild's kitchen! Okay, okay, the Heartspie cutter looks like a violation, but that's for my Mom or the ladies inmy life to get mushy on me. (At least "try" to believe that one.)This one is a good deal. I'm glad to have it.
