I bought this 4 years ago and it did not fit exactly it was a little loose but I didn't have a wrench to fit between the chuck and the head stock. It was very handy if the chuck was not to tightly seeded but it slipped if it was. Well I was taking the chuck off and this time and the tool broke. I thought paying $30 for a tool that it would last longer than that. Warranty is only 2 years so I had to order another because I have 3 Nova chucks. Hopefully this one will work longer.

While it seems like a lot to pay for what is essentially a stamping, this is indeed a very useful tool if you own NOVA chucks and other tooling, The main wrench easily fits between a chuck and the headstock of your lathe to grip the insert directly. The “hooks” on Twitter side of that wrench are designed to grab the chuck body and turn it. The small wrench end had me puzzled at first, but I realized it fits NOVA’s modular tool rest posts, making it easier to install or remove the various rests. This is a specialized tool, and NOVA is not going to sell a million of them, so you can’t expect the kind of volume pricing seen on stamping imported by the container load from China. Given all that I think it’s a reasonable deal.

The only thing this wrench fits is the insert nut. Save your money and just go by a cheapo regular wrench.

Can get it here, or for $27.50 from Woodcraft, (with the shipping) but it is the exact same wrench with the same part number and the same poor fit on the Titan models. The "heel" hits well before so the rest of the radius of the cutout doesn't make contact at all. I'm guessing it will try to lever the pin from the opening and potentially slip or weaken at that point. I will probably try to cut the opening a bit better for a more snug fit. Amazing to me that they missed the mark with this one.

I never write on-line reviews, but the poor quality of this tool has driven me to. The spanner wrench part of this tool needed to be filed and ground for a half hour before it was useable. I own a nova lathe, a nova chuck, and few other nova tool. This tool is not of the same quality. This tool is a do-not-buy!!!!

its a wrench, it fits the threaded chuck it was designed for, it works well at what it was designed for.

My chuck is always just a little stuck on the lathe after turning a piece. I used to just use a stick of oak, jam it between the jaws of the chuck, and give it a tap to get it loose. Now, I use this spanner instead. It fits the nova inserts, so you can get the chuck off your lathe spindle without too much ingenuity or pounding!
