First this plaque is made of acrylic and it is pretty thick, sturdy. The heart-shaped design (for a nurse) is very pretty as is the design's colors and artwork. It's a great gift for someone that wants to thank or pay tribute to a nurse which we have in our family. Unfortunately 2 big negatives: the plaque we received has several scratches on it which could be the result of poor packing. The plaque was floating loose in a thin cardboard box with zero protection. It should have been wrapped in bubble wrap at the least. The stand was also scratched and it had just a thin piece of plastic wrap (like Saran wrap) over it. Shocking the company wouldn't try to protect the contents. The thin cardboard box was then thrown into a big box to just bump around in, no wonder it's all scratched up! The 2nd negative is the design and colors are only on 1 side, so it has to be displayed against a wall or on a shelf versus on a desk or table. It's a really nice gift idea if it isn't scratched up, just think about where you/they will want to use it.
