When choosing the gauge: Thicker strings offer more durability, making them ideal for hard hitters, but provide less power, touch and spin.

Because of several recommendations I saw on YouTube, I bought a roll of Kirschbaum Super Smash Orange of 1.23 mm, but I couldn't get comfortable with it, I kept looking and found the OEHMS Black Pearl Rough of 1. 21 mm, since I need a string that is durable, soft with the arm, and that helps to generate top spin in the ball, so I think I found it, since the OEHMS BPR, fulfilled all the points I wanted, I've been using it for a month in which I played a doubles tournament and behaved spectacular, For the days that I am more fine I have a racquet with 45 pounds of tension since it has much more power in the blow and for the days that I am a little more erratic I have the other racquet at 50 pounds of tension, this way I have the best of both worlds power and control. Without any problem the string can last between 11 and 14 hours keeping the tension very well. This string has nothing to envy to those that are very expensive. With this price I can string several times a month without hurting my wallet. I use a Volkl Vcell 300 gr.

A friend gave me a sample, alu rough which is the same as the black pearl, to try out. It felt good and gave me good pop and spin. I was using Volkl Cyclone at that time and this was less than half the cost so I decided to get a reel. The first time, I strung a racket and left it unused for 3 weeks. When I pick it up to use it, I was surprised to find that it had already lost about 5lbs of tension! That's even before ever hitting with it. The second one only lasted 1 session of 3 hours. Going back to the Cyclone as soon as I can.

Great performer for heavy baseliners. Holds tension better than Alu Power but is a bit more firm. If you have elbow issues string this at a lesser tension and adjust cross tensions to either lessen or enhance the higher launch effect depending on your ability.

5.0 heavy hitter. This stuff is great and crisp with very good control. Fades pretty fast as it notches but the price is right. I strong at 51#
