The Okuma Celilo "B" Salmon & Steelhead Casting Rod is from the Celilo family of rods that are a staple in the Pacific Northwest. With design updates, these popular Okuma salmon and steelhead rods add even more value and fish-catching ability. The reliably sensitive graphite composite rod blanks balance strength and responsiveness to the "T" and let you know when the lightest biters take your bait. The UFR-II Ultimate Flex Reinforcement tip technology further enhances the sensitivity and durability of the salmon and steelhead baitcasting rod. Experience smooth and efficient line flow with the Celilo "B" rods, featuring titanium oxide guide inserts that minimize friction and maximize casting distance. Durable stainless steel reel seat hoods grip your reel tightly during intense fights. The feature fore and rear tapered Neo cork grips are designed to cradle your hands and provide comfort throughout your entire day of fishing. And Okuma didn't forget to include a stainless steel hook keeper for when you're taking a rest.

Chucks out heavy lures quite far, which is especially nice when fishing from shore at the ocean. It is a little stiff, but it is made for those heavier fish so it feels good. I can whip it as hard as I want and never have to worry about a snap.

I received only one part of the fishing rod, I do not recommend it.

I generally love this rod. I have the 8'6 and the 9 footer medium heavy. This review is about the 9 footer. I use it for casting from the beach for snook, big jacks and tarpon. My only problem and the reason it's not getting 5 stars is the line snags on the tip often and the guides bend too easily. I'm scared when I bend them back they're gonna snap off at one point. I'm not very rough with this rod, but I do keep it in the bed of my truck and so on. The slightest amount of pressure bends these guides.

overall the pole great. plenty of backbone on the rod. i wish it came in a heavy also. i have a 8'6" heavy and it's great with one exception the top part of the rod is always loose and comes off sometimes when casting. was a simple fix with surf wax but have to apply on every use. the 9' gives me a little more distance and is a little more sensitive; 6 " more in length give a little more play.

I have been using it for everything. Great in bigger rivers and also great in the bay.

I used this 9’ medium heavy to cast 3oz and 5 oz lead sinkers fishing for Redfish in Port Aransas. It easily handled the 35” Bull Red I landed on the jetty.
