I got this because it is designed as a "hanging feeder" functionally it's pretty good... I had my doubts that it would handle a 200lb load, but it definitely does!I've seen some reviews mention concerns about the lid, but it seems pretty sturdy and watertight-due to the collared lid clasp.I've only had it for about a month, so we will see how it goes over time

I have two of these Elite Feeders with the big hopper and am about to buy another and they're really great but make sure whatever you hang it from can stand the weight if you intend to fill the hopper with corn or some other heavy feed. The feeder is also tall so you will have to hang it higher than your standard five gallon bucket style feeder to keep it out of reach of bears and vandals.Other than these cautions I've been using Ontime feeders for about 5 years now and they're way better than any other brand I've ever used and since the battery life is so good I get about 6 months of use on a set of AA's with 6 short feeding times a day. I've also had these survive 3 hurricanes and the only damage I incurred was when one of them hit the ground when the trees it was suspended between were blown over by hurricane Michael. A new aluminum funnel part for $26 and I'm back in business.Also I've had to deal directly with Ontime for questions and parts and have found them to be very polite and easy to deal with.I know they're expensive but if you want a quality feeder that you can fill with corn and not even touch for several months at a time and not to have to worry if it's working or have to spread scent around it because it requires constant maintenance and filling then this is your feeder. Consider the cost of gasoline or diesel and what your time is worth and you'll probably agree with me that these feeders are a worthwhile investment.I have no connection to Ontime feeders or for that matter any Amazon sellers and I have never received free or discounted products for a review so this is a totally honest review and I tend to be picky about the products I buy.

First season with the new timer. So far so good. The hanging feeder is great.
