This tool allows DIY of ether net cable connectors. I have to admit that I don't build enough cables to be really good at it but this tool takes the experience (or lack of it) out of installing ether net connectors. RJ45 ends are solid and reliable. The tool is well made and should last a long time.

Easy to use, makes perfect connections. The test tool is great, so you know if you missed a wire. These pass-thru connectors are the way to go, much easier than the old type. Having longer wires allows you to get them straight and aimed at the pass thru.

Please support this company, they are legit. The tool works just as good as my Klein RJ45 Crimp Tool, but this is a fraction of the cost. I love doing reviews for companies that actually do a great job with their equipment. I would also hope this company starts selling extra cutting blade bits so they can keep this tool going. I tried it on three cables for a total of 6 connectors and it looks great, they even give you a tool to check your work and they give you the connectors with the covers. Take my advice, if you are on the fence with purchasing this product and BUY IT! don't waste your money on name brand. This is NOT A FAKE REVIEW

Works great. House had 3 Ethernet connections wired to the wall outlet from the builder, but the ends in the basement were never finished off with an actual RJ45 connection. Local telecom company wanted $80/each to create the connector. I bought this kit for $35 and did it myself in less than 30 minutes first time. Saved myself over $200 and learned something new.

The cable tester was very easy to use. It quickly showed that I had a bad connection in one of my in-wall cables. It appears that one half of the tester is a "loopback" device, while the other half of the tester checks each wire in the cable by applying a small voltage to one wire and reading that voltage coming back through a different wire. I happened to guess correctly which end of my cable had the bad connector, since the tester can't provide that level of information. Worst case, I would have had to replace both connectors.I only crimped one new connector with this tool, but that's the point I'm trying to make. It took just one attempt to successfully replace a faulty connector. The new connectors allow the wires to pass through, making it easy to align them in the connector body before crimping the connector. The way that the tool crimps the connector and trims the excess wires is a nice touch. Overall, the tool has a very solid feel to it.

This cable crimper works better than other low priced crimpers I've used. I'd say it's above average for cheap cirmpers. I would buy this again.

Update 5/5: I am thoroughly impressed with the Kyrene company offering this Crimp Tool Kit because they stand behind their product and value customer feedback. After I left my honest but good 3 star review, a few days later I was offered a refund even though I didn't ask for one. I still think the kit is a great value at under $40 and I chose it specifically because it gives you all that you need to start cutting, crimping and testing RJ45 (Cat5/5e/6) cables quickly and cheaply. The cabling color guide and pass-through RJ45 jack support is a game changer since I first starting creating RJ45 cables over 20 years ago in college. Hopefully the tester works well for you like everything else in the kit has, but even if not - the company stands behind their product which is always great to see. 5/5 for customer service for sure.Original 3/5: This is a god bargain kit for creating Ethernet cables, especially with the modern pass-thru RJ45 plugs. I just wish the cable tester that came with my kit worked… it is rather cheaply constructed and does not have an on/off button, but then only a few lights would light up (on new factory CAT6 patch cable) on the cycle. I know replacement cheap testers are $10-15 or so, but having that in the kit (and working) would have been a great value.
