This EGW scope mount is great and sturdy piece to replace the factory mounts on Savage Axis and placing it on is easy. I only have one complaint which worked out anyways was the screws that came with it didn't work. I applied loctite as normal but the EGW screw kept turning an never tighten down but luckily the screws the were on Savage from the mounts worked and I loctite those down instead, now it's tight and secure. It's definitely worth the money I just need to get the right measurement screw for further projects.

I ordered this for my new Savage Axis 2, 30-06. The holes on the rail lined up perfect and it came with 2 sets of screws and a bit. The smaller set of screws worked just fine, and tightened down snug, without issue. It cleared the bolt just fine. Mounted my scope very easily. Just received today so I haven't had a chance to shoot it to see if the screws will stay tight in the rail.

This rail works perfectly with the Nikon ProStaff scopes with the big diopter bell. No line on the Diopter bell from that high travel Savage Axis bolt. You already know how that midway up on the bolt, the Savage Axis catches and then pops into full "up" to release the bolt to slide back. That pop upward was ringing the bell on my Nikon scopes and made a permanent line on my Coyote Special. I bought this rail to replace the factory two piece mounts, and paired it with Monstrum Precision .80 rings, it fits as good, and as low, as anything I tried. I believe I could have used a 50mm objective, and had a lower fit at the barrel, but this combo doesn't look bad. This rail is Definitely an Upgrade

I bought a clearances savage axis chambered in .223 a little over a month ago. It came with the separated weaver style mini-rails that wouldn't work for me, they were slightly too far apart for me to use. I bought a cheap rail, that was nice but weaver only and didn't work with the scope rings I bought.I ended up buying this rail, as it was picatinny style, so I could use my good recoil resistant scope rings. This thing works great. It's easily worth the investment.

Amazing rail, it is definitely picatinny, also known as a MIL-STD-1913 rail. Way better than the Weaver rails witch limits you to what you can put on. This rail definitely saved me from losing my mind. Fit my new ATN scope with ease. Highly highly recommend. Great quality of craftsmanship. I definitely appreciate the fact that they used torx screws. Prevents let’s stripping with flat or phillips . Head.

Low quality hardware. Not bad for the money

I bought a savage .308 from Cabelas last week on sale and was stoked. . . .. until I discovered nobody sells a scope mount (here) that'll fit it... not Cabelas, Scheels or other 'local' places -- I was quite upset and disheartened by the situation... I knew somebody had to make one, but it was rather difficult finding much information.. then in a forum somebody mentioned EGW, so a short search later got me here on Amazon where I bought this mount. After a short wait on shipping, it got here today and AAHHHaa it fits like a champ! So If you're having trouble looking for a scope mount for your Savage Axis - look no further this one is it!It's well made and looks sharp. Doesn't interfere with the axis long bolt throw.
