These are 89a wheels which mean very hard. I was a bit worried, but they still have some cushion in them and don't shake my brain when riding on not-so-perfect-asphalt rode. grip was ok for typical fitness skate turns, UNLESS the surface is wet. When the surface is wet, you better stay home with these wheels. Thanks to the hardness, I could use T brake without worrying too much about damaging the side of the wheels. indeed, there was hardly any scratch after a few hard T braking.I noticed some imperfection in the wheel mold (e.g., bearing socket alignment), so even perfect bearings may not let the wheel run forever after fitted. But for the price, I would not hesitate to buy another set (may be buy cheaper bearings?).

I am no wheel scientist and I cannot properly explain the technical aspects of a durometer rating, but I have been a user of inline skate wheels for over 20 years and consider my experience to be worth more than a grain of salt. To put it simply, I was stunned when I checked the wheels after my first use. I did not expect to see any wear whatsoever after only about a half a mile of use, which is typical of many of my other wheels, including older and softer ones. These wheels, however, displayed very large flat spots where they were dragged behind me for braking purposes (hockey skates do not have brakes, and skate dragging is a standard way to slow down, and I have done this with older and softer wheels for many years). Obviously, dragging your wheels is going to lose you some portion of your wheel, no matter what they are made out of, so that is not my concern. My concern is that of all the wheels I have used, these showed the quickest and largest flat spots I have ever encountered. And for further justification of my criticism, my front two wheels (Sovereign Speed Kamikaze, 82A durometer rating) displayed no flat spots, even though all 4 wheels are dragged with approximately equal pressure. I still give them 3 stars because they are a great price and for regular use I'm sure they will work perfectly fine for the average person.

While the product is a nice hard wheel, the other problems with the product will cause you issues if you are looking to use these for cross training / endurance skating. The problems start with the product having a slight warp which can only be seen after installing the wheels to your inline skates. The wheels will wobble because of this warp and will cause a number of issues during their use, such as boot vibration or loss of control at higher speeds. The next problem is harder to see until assembly. The manufacturer has poor control of their processes, and this can be found in the poor quality control of the hubs. Some of the hubs fit the bearings correctly, while others are extremely tight. Some of this tightness is so great that it actually compresses the bearing to the point of acting like a brake. Overall, if you are getting these wheels for basic recreation you may be just fine. IF you are getting this for fitness or endurance skating I HIGHLY RECOMMEND going for a better production. YOU WILL BE DISAPPOINTED.

I’m hard on wheels. I freestyle skate and urban skate with a lot of stops and turns. All over all different types of terrain. I skate a lot, probably way too much for my wife’s liking. These wheels are tough. If you skate on the concrete/asphalt jungle these wheels will suit your needs. This is the second pair I’ve purchased. First pair lasted me 3 months with rotations.. (gotta rotate your wheels..no matter what wheel you are using).

I enjoy this set of wheels very much, they are solid yet provide a comfortable and steady ride, stroke after stroke. I will definitely be ordering another set of these soon.

Last much longer than my 82A's that came with my skates. Also run very fast. The hole for the bearings was really tight which kind of worries me but I'll figure it out later.update 4/8/16: Bought these December 14th and I'm only just now rotating them. Was a little bit worried about the grip because of the wheel hardness but so far no issues at all. I feel like they grip just as good as my 82A's that they replaced except they barely wear down at all.
