I tried on 2x 4k60hz monitors and it worked well!Has a handy usb-c power injector slot, but does not come with a power adapter. Makes sense to me, probably dont use anything greater than 100w input for that port.Charges my 65w Laptop well at the same time!

Pros:- Solid metal build, feels durable- Works with USB-A 3.0 connector via passive adapter in addition to USB-C connector- Supports multiple external monitors without issues- Smooth installation process, DisplayLink Manager is helpful- Video playback is surprisingly smooth on connected monitors at FHD- Text display quality at FHD 1080p is excellent- Does not require external power, only gets slightly warmCons:- Requires DisplayLink driver installation (not really a con)- Some monitors may need unplugging and reinserting to be detectedThe Plugable USB-C to Quad HDMI 4K TAA DisplayLink Pro 7400H4 Adapter has a solid build with a sleek metal case. It feels durable and well-designed.Installing the DisplayLink driver from Plugable’s website on my Windows 11 laptop was straightforward. At the end of the installation, I was prompted to install DisplayLink Manager. This tool proved useful for confirming monitor connections. The setup process went smoothly. My laptop does not have a USB-C port, but the adapter worked perfectly with a USB-A 3.0 connector via a passive adapter. I was delighted! I connected two external monitors, and DisplayLink Manager showed them correctly. If a monitor does not appear, unplugging and reinserting the HDMI connector solves the issue. Similarly, if the adapter is not detected for the first time, unplugging and reinserting the USB connector fixes the problem. With three total displays (my laptop screen plus two external monitors), the setup works well in FHD 1080p. I tested by playing three different YouTube videos across the screens, and playback remained smooth. Despite product specifications suggesting video playback may not be optimal, I found the quality highly acceptable. I did not notice any stuttering, even if there might be dropped frames. Text display is crisp and clear. The adapter did not need an external power supply and only became slightly warm.Overall, this adapter impresses with its reliable performance, even on a basic Dell laptop without USB-C alternate mode. The ability to work seamlessly with USB-A 3.0 via a passive adapter makes it even more versatile. I am very happy with this order.

This little adapter really surprised me. I connected 2 4K screens hrough just one USB C port and it worked smoothly. I used it for work and having separate screens for documents, video calls, and data made everything feel way more organized. It also supports power delivery which is a huge plus. I plugged my laptop charger into the adapter and it charged my computer while keeping all displays running. But even without external power, it worked fine just from the laptop.Setup was easy. You do need to install the DisplayLink driver but once that is done it works great.

I purchased this adapter to connect multiple monitors to my laptop, and it has been a solid solution. It allows me to connect up to four 1080p monitors through a single USB-C port, which is perfect for my multi-monitor setup. The build quality is sturdy, and the device is compact enough to fit neatly on my desk. The 100W pass-through charging is a convenient feature, ensuring my laptop stays powered during use. However, I did encounter some limitations with HDCP content; streaming services like Netflix and Hulu didn't work through the connected displays, but YouTube videos played fine. Additionally, setting up the displays on macOS required some effort to arrange them correctly, but once configured, everything worked smoothly. Overall, this adapter is a reliable choice for expanding display options, especially for productivity tasks.

1) a) This USB-C dock works great with 1 x 1440p monitor at 60 Hz or 2 x 1080p at 75 Hz.1) b) I set the 1440p monitor to 100 Hz and everything seemed fine for about 10 seconds. I didn't do much at 100 Hz.1) c) I then set the 1440p monitor to 144 Hz and the dock kept disconnecting and reconnecting the monitor. It wouldn't stop. I had no way to change the refresh rate. Now, everytime I try to use this dock with my 1440p monitor the monitor would just constantly connect and disconnect.1) d) I tried doing this with 2 different laptops. The same thing happens at 144 Hz. Windows 11 remembers my settings and will constantly keep reconnecting at 144 Hz.1) e) I had a 100w charger plugged into the dock too.1) f) I tried another dock that I have and my refresh rate options are 60, 100, and 120. 120 works fine with this other dock.1) g) I'm unsure if this is an issue with the dock or something else.1) h) I am not able to try all 3 monitors together because they are in different rooms.2) My laptop charges quickly using a 100W charger. The amount of power flowing to my laptop is up to 90W. This is mentioned in product picture 6. For some reason I don't see this mentioned in the instructions.3) a) As you can tell from the product pictures, there are no USB ports.3) b) This is very odd. I would have liked at least 1 or 2 USB ports.3) c) You cannot take off any stars for this because you can obviously see what you're getting before buying this dock.4) The built-in USB-C cable is a good length at 1'.I can recommend this USB-C dock but keep in mind that I only tested this with 1 x 1440p monitor at 60 Hz or 2 x 1080p at 75 Hz. I don't have any 4K monitors to try this with.I don't recommend this USB-C dock if you want to change the refresh rate to be over 100 Hz. I have no idea what the problem is.

The user manual provided with this product said that manual driver installation was needed. However when I went to the link provided with the packaging, and looked at the FAQ's, it told me that Windows installation is typically automatic. So I just plugged it in to a USB-C port on my laptop and connected two 4K HDMI monitors (I only have two set up at this point, but more are on the way), and it came up basically plug-and-play. All I needed to do was to access my Win11 display settings and set them up how I wanted. It wasn't really clear what I would have had to do if it didn't automatically come up. I'm glad I didn't have to dig into that!I do recommend that you carefully read ALL of the FAQ's on their website before plugging it in, especially if you plan to use the pass-through power.I did not test the pass-through power port, simply because I didn't need it. My PC has its own power supply. Also, the site says that the device does not support commercial streaming services but I don't have subscriptions to any of those (I have a public library card!), so I didn't test that, but I have no reason to disbelieve them. This device worked as advertised, so I would give it 5 stars. The device is currently selling for $125, which is a reasonable price for the utility of it. It's nice to have an easy way to connect all my monitors up.

The Plugable USB-C to Quad HDMI 4K Adapter (USBC-7400H4) is a powerhouse for professionals and multitaskers who need to expand their display setup without sacrificing performance. This adapter supports up to four 4K displays (though I tested it with two additional monitors on my MacBook Pro M3), delivering crisp visuals and smooth operation. The 100W Power Delivery (PD) pass-through is a game-changer, allowing you to charge your laptop while using the adapter, eliminating the need for extra cables. The adapter is compatible with Windows, Mac M1/M2/M3/M4, Thunderbolt, and USB-C laptops, though it requires a DisplayLink Pro driver for full functionality a small trade-off for its versatility. Setup was straightforward, and once installed, the adapter worked seamlessly with my M3 Pro, extending my desktop across multiple screens without lag or resolution drops. One of the standout features of this adapter is its reliable performance under heavy workloads. Whether I was editing/watching videos, coding, or managing spreadsheets across multiple screens, the adapter handled everything without overheating or stuttering. The TAA compliance ensures it meets government procurement standards, reflecting its robust build quality. While the driver requirement might deter plug-and-play purists, the installation process is well-documented, and the customer support is responsive if issues arise based on past experience. The adapter's compact design makes it portable, though the attached cables could be slightly longer for more flexible desk setups. For Mac users, it's worth noting that DisplayLink drivers occasionally need updates to maintain compatibility with macOS updates, but Plugable has a good history of providing timely support.Overall, this Quad HDMI Adapter is a stellar choice for anyone needing a multi-monitor solution with power delivery. Its ability to drive high-resolution displays, combined with PD passthrough, makes it ideal for creatives, developers, and office workers. While the driver dependency and cable length are minor drawbacks, the adapter's performance, compatibility, and build quality more than justify the investment. If you're looking to supercharge your productivity with extra screen real estate especially on Apple Silicon Macs, this adapter delivers where others fall short.
