I ordered and paid for a large bag but received a medium bag. The item looks ok but there does seem to be some sloppiness sound some of the punched holes. The lining of the bag seemed poor while the outside was ok but I’m not convinced that it is leather (perhaps an extremely thin layer of leather bonded onto the lining material - this may impact the durability of the bag within a short period of time). The bag does not appear to be of reasonable value for money (I paid around $208 AUD). Overall, great concept, but questionable quality and durability. Item is being returned.

I’ve sewn multiple bags from Popsewing and they have not disappointed me yet. The quality of this bag is amazing, the leather is so soft and durable. As far as directions go, they provided two sets of instructions, written and video. The size is perfect, and considering how much this bag goes for at a certain store, it’s more than worth the value it’s selling for.

This is my third Popsewing diy bag kit. I received the complete materials and it is of great quality. I enjoyed the other 2 DIY bag kits so I decided to get this one, it is more challenging than the first 2 but I was still able to make it. The result looks beautiful, it looks like the original bag that I wanted to buy. Video tutorial helped a lot even if it is in different language. I am so hooked into this now… I am ordering moreI was so impressed with the first bag I ordered thus I ordered another one in a different color. The seller’s customer service are amazing, their response is fast and they are very helpful.

I've been sewing and crafting since I was 8 so I am not a beginner by any means but I can say this is probably a project that would be ok for a beginner but probably not a first project. If you are not familiar with sewing I would recommend watching some videos on saddle stitching and working with leather. Putting the bag together was pretty easy though there was one par that I was glad there was a video to clear-up because the PDF description wasn't quite clear. The bag came out beautiful and it feels like a luxury bag, my 9 year old daughter did a smaller one and had a lot of fun. We are ordering more!

I have been coveting a real like Hermes Birkin Bag for like 15 years now, however what average person has $40K to drop on a handbag? So I saw this, read some reviews, watched some review videos & thought I would give it a go. I’m pretty crafty so what have I got to loose. It arrived faster than expected, so win 1 down! The leather was better than expected, win 2 down! The pieces are all pre-cut, holes, pre-drilled, and all metal hardware is already attached, win 3 down! You have all the supplies that you need in the box, thread, multiple needles, clips, scissors , edge binding, and handles, & strap, win 4 down! The written instructions are ok, but you can figure them out it you struggle at it. Here is the kicker…. the instruction video, which is definitely the most helpful tool, is in Chinese…… but don’t fret! Just turn your volume off, watch what she does, and there are written words, in English, on the video if you need a little more help. But I found that just watching what she did and then stopping the video and doing that was all the help I needed. Once I flipped the bag inside out, the corners weren’t as crisp as I would like, so I am going to steam the leather and then shape it the way I want. Now that I have made one, there are definitely things that I would have done in a different order, but all in all, I am super happy with how it turned out and I will proudly use this handbag!

Love love love! Already ordering more kits for family!Couple things to note. This took me (an experienced sewist) about 9 hours on and off. Directions were unclear, and the video tutorial was in another language, but I was able to figure it out no problem.I almost ran out of thread, but there was just enough. Next time, I’ll be more careful about not taking too much in the beginning and measuring lengths of thread carefully.Attaching the bottom was tricky… at some point I missed or skipped a hole and the bottom edge has a wrinkle but there’s no way I’m taking it apart to redo it so there it will stay. I suggest counting holes and matching them up as you go to make sure you stay on track.I also sewed the very last piece on upside down and had to detach and reattach it. No biggie. Just pay attention. I got so excited to finish that I didn’t even notice.Use the finger sleeve things! They help grip the needle as you work, and also protect your fingers. My fingers have blisters from not using them for the first few hours!The bag is VERY stiff, so in my opinion it’s not an everyday bag. It’s tough to get in and out of but it’s high quality and perfect for date nights or events.Overall the bag is beautiful. Holes all lined up perfectly and all of the supplies it came with were great to have. 10/10!

Edit:My review rating is reduced from 2 to 1. I have been communicating with the manufacturer. We have been going back and forth. Not surprisingly they are insisting there is nothing wrong with the purse design. There IS something wrong with the design. My wife can’t close the top because of the effort required to force the hardware through the openings. She wore the bag to a gathering of her lady friends and none of them could close and latch it. So, don’t punish yourself with this bag. End of revision.The purse is beautiful but almost unusable. The top front piece takes an excessive amount effort to close. The twist closure does not line up with the opening. Also, the holes for the strap cleats are too small and have to be forced in place. None of the problem areas can be reset as holes cannot be covered.I believe the item should be replaced at no charge with one which is properly manufactured.
