I live in the Sierras in the foothills. This jacket is perfect for general wear all year, and is a fantastic base layer. It breathes just the right amount. I bought three over the last few years so I can wear one to work, keep one in the car for emergencies, and wear one around the house.The only real complaints I have are super minor. The cuff size is inconsistent between the three jackets, and the chest becomes really tight when you lift your arms to be level with your collar bone. In a normal office setting or general around the house stuff this isn’t a problem, but it certainly wouldn’t do well in a highly active sport. These complaints are not limited to my weight or jacket size. I know people in the large and medium categories that experience the same thing, so it isn’t a me problem.

I received one of these jackets as a gift. My usual medium fit a slight bit small so I swapped it for a large. Voila! Perfect.Then, I evaluated it for warmth. Living in Upstate New York I experience months of frigid weather. This is certainly not a main winter coat, but it is an excellent inner layer, an excellent coat for in the house or the office, and an excellent coat for the “shoulder months” - immediately before and after winter. I just wore it (as my main coat) to shovel the driveway on a sunny, still, 19°F afternoon - it was perfect.It sheds mist and light rain very well.The collar zips up high, blocking chilling winds and holding body heat in.The sleeves are long, not skimpy.I wish it had a phone pocket inside the chest, but, due to its lightness, it may not stand up to the weight of a phone. That lightness - that’s a part of this coat’s excellence. It is so light that it provides great freedom of motion.This order I placed (for TWO more) is me buying it again. I’ll keep one clean and wear the others in my workshop and for other activities.I would definitely buy this as a gift for friends or family.

I use this for my work in the office. And in front of customers. For the price point, I am very impressed and have received many compliments on the jacket.
