I used this net to catch crabs when I was home in Louisiana recently. I used a shower curtain hook to attach a fish backbone to the center of the net, and I tied a float to the bridle line. I let it soak about fifteen minutes each time, then checked it. The depth of the net makes it more difficult for the crabs to climb out the net. I was very pleased with the net's "off-label" performance.I can not address the pompano rig, since I was using the net in brackish water where no pompano reside.

These are not as well made as they were 20 years ago, but what is? I would also like to see it come with a better/larger storage bag. The one it comes with is difficult to put the net back in. In fact, I started just folding the net back up and putting it in it's box. So save your box! It will at least buy you some time until you can find a permanent storage home for it! What is nice about these modern bridge nets is how much more portable they are. Velcro straps work well to keep the net folded and tamed while transporting.

As I bought this for my nephew I haven't seen it but I know it arrived before the dated delivery time. I am sure it is perfect and he will love it when he gets it for his birthday. Thanks.

Getting right to the point this is not what I would call heavy duty. It is really flimsy and I don’t see it being able to lift a fish with any weight or length, I feel it will collapse under a heavy load.

This finishing net makes fishing off a pier or a tall dock. This net is thick and sturdy which is a huge plus. D

It isn’t wire it’s a flat bar that they put inside of a loose tube. The only way to roll it up into thirds is to pinch the bar so it won’t twist inside of the rubber tube since it’s so loose. It would be impossible to do if you had fish slime on your hands or wet hands. Either the bar needs to be double the size or the tube needs to be smaller so that it fits properly. I was planning on replacing the line anyway, but just so everyone knows it’s cheap Paracord. I’m gonna keep it for now. my plan is to fill the entire tube with silicone caulk. Wouldn’t recommend anyone buys this junk.
