This is great little shelf. It will not work on gfi plugs though which is where i was hoping to use it sonwe had to put it somewhere else.

I love the number of options and the protection this outlet offers. It has enough ports for everything you need at one outlet. And the shelf!!! I totally love it. I imagine putting my phone on it to charge, and my watch, and my dog lights, and my bluetooth speaker.... unfortunately I cannot use the shelf at all and had to remove it, as every single outlet in my whole apartment is sideways. The table would lie vertically. hahaha. It would be nice if this product adjusted it's prongs for an upright or horizontal outlet. That is my great sadness, but if u have vertical outlets, this is an amazing product.

This is very easy to install. Just plug it in. It requires two outlets stacked to work if you want the shelf. You can plug it into a sideways outlet, but the shelf would be sideways. It has one plug into power and then a plastic pole going into ground on the other outlet. Once plugged in, it is a bit wiggly. I feel that wiggle depends on your outlet itself. Mine is a little wiggly, so the unit wiggles. It is apparent that if your outlets are loose, this will not work. It will fall out.I had an outlet extender that I replaced with this one for the little shelf to put items on it that are recharging. It is large enough for a phone. It has a lip, so you can prop a larger device on it. I tested the weight by placing a full bottle of hand soap on it. It held the weight just fine. I didn't expect it to do well, so I places a full bottle of shampoo on it as well. That is when I noticed it was slowly trying to pull away from the outlet. So, it holds a good amount of weight, assuming your outlets are tight enough to hold onto it.If I were to try to improve this device, I would include all three prongs in the second outlet just to give it more material to hold on the outlet. But, overall, it works fine.

This has decent build quality but my biggest concern is that there is no mention of joules on the unit nor the box and manual. Major red flag.
