This all-in-one dust collection hood is equipped with an industry standard 4” OD port, making it compatible and can be connected to most ID 4” hose and/or pipe dust collection systems. I use this with my 1.5 HP, 850 CFM dust collector when I'm using my lathe or miter saw. Definitely works better on the lathe; miter saws are notoriously difficult to do satisfactory dust collection. The only real solution there is a wrap-around hood behind the saw, which is not very practical. This unit does about as good a job as can be expected. Of course how well it works depends a lot on the dust collection built into the miter saw - which is sadly, usually not very good. Still, it's as good a solution as can be had without something that's custom built.

Works as it should - but I did have to buy a 4” to 2.5” reducer. Good quality plastic, seems sturdy enough for my hobby level of wood working.
