About this item

  • BREAKTHROUGH TECHNOLOGY—The Catalyst series features paintbrushes with synthetic bristles where each individual fiber has been split to replicate the natural flags on the finest natural bristle
  • ADVANCED POLYTIP BRISTLES—Each fiber has two to three distinct tips, allowing the brush to hold a high volume of paint while providing a smoother application and better control
  • BETTER THAN NATURAL BRISTLES—Unlike natural hog bristles, our artist paint brushes offer real integrity, maximum stiffness and the best color holding capacity and shape retention.
  • MADE TO MOVE PAINT—Catalyst brushes are designed for use with medium to heavy-bodied acrylics and oil paints. They can even push heavy gel mediums with assurance.

Product Description

Catalyst professional art brushes are yet another breakthrough that advances the science of synthetic hair. The fine craftsmen at Princeton created a new series of brushes that offer the stiffness and responsiveness you need, even in water. Catalyst brushes have real integrity in water, unlike natural hog bristles, which can be rendered useless when water-soaked. The true advance in these painting brushes is the Polytip bristles. For the first time, the tip of each individual hair has been split to replicate the natural flags found on the finest natural bristle. By giving each individual hair two to three distinct tips, Catalyst is able to hold a higher volume of paint while providing amazing detail and a smoother application. Designed for use with medium to heavy-bodied acrylic and oil paints, Catalyst paint brushes even push heavy gel media. Catalyst Polytip Bristle brushes truly are tools that move paint.

Thought I would try one of these brushes, I had heard good things about the Catalyst line and Princeton quality. I received a broken paint brush with no packaging inside an envelope. Not sure how I’m supposed to paint anything with that!

These are the best brushes I've used in a long time. I use them for both acrylics and oils and they are springy, not too stiff, and hold a lot of paint. I will be purchasing more.
